Great news! I do wish the government (and those that control it) could get beyond this issue. I know it is in part due to all the pro-one-view-of-marriage, anti-gay, anti-trans, anti-anything-they-don't-understand-or-agree-with organizations that are probably holding us back but to me it is quite simple (not that the us government ever does anything simply). Either abolish government sponsored marriage altogether or make a sweeping federal mandate that government sponsored marriage can extend to any 2 (or 3? lol) consenting adults. Said marriage must be recognized in any and all states. Period. IMO this should not be a state by state issue and an individual state should not be able to go against this federal mandate that I propose! There are just some things that individual states should not be able to decide for themselves until they grow up. I mean let's just drop the UNITED from our name if we are not really united. It is not fooling anyone. Geez luweeeeze. Gratz Maryland!
