Another cover with Lea T on it. I feel like we are becoming more and more visible and that it's shown that  we can do more than people have expected.

2 out of 3 reports I've found on this emphasized the "gender play" aspects, in that "Moss was made-up as a man, and Lea T as a woman". It may be making us more visible, but I'm not sure this is the publicity I want.

Hot. And why not a little gender play. It's not like we really believe that Kate Moss looks anything like a man. She's just butching it up -- *slightly*. I think when ->-bleeped-<-s are able to play with gender like everyone else we are just a little bit more liberated. After all, I'm not a glammed-up super femme all the time either.

I am of two minds on this.

First I don't like it. We are once again cast in the role of sexual toy. The imagery says (too me) that trans people are sex toys for the cisgender. Also the cisgender female is cast in a male role and thereby the dominate sexual partner. Therefore even a woman is higher on the sexual *food chain* than a transwoman. Kinda sucky. I would have welcomed a more equal footing. (yes I do understand in was in a gender play context. I still feel as I do.)

Second I like it. She (the transwoman) is beautiful and is involved sexualy (in the context of the picture) with a woman that is well known. There is no threat and the partners are involved in consentual play. Showing the transwoman in a non threatening way serves to make us more acceptable as sexual partners, and also by implication that we are non threatening and acessable socialy.
So it is said that if you know your enemies and know yourself, you can win a hundred battles without a single loss.
If you only know yourself, but not your opponent, you may win or may lose.
If you know neither yourself nor your enemy, you will always endanger yourself.

The problem with the gender play is that by invoking that particular trick and dressing Moss up as a man, the implication is that Lea T, dressed up as a woman, is really a man.

hmm
I like it.
Not when it is cast as an aspersion but as a familiar term. It gets ussed by the locals (trans) in my area in casual conversation when refering to family.

It's purely psychological - I associate it with being stabbed (and another incident which I don't talk about).

I'm jealous of anyone who can score a bit of kissie face with Kate Moss... Yum Yum!!!
The main things to remember in life are Love, Kindness, Understanding and Respect - Always make forward progress

Superficial fanny kissing friends are a dime a dozen, a TRUE FRIEND however is PRICELESS

I'd rather kiss a pile of broken chairs - the effect would be much the same.

I don't think she's that pretty really...Lilly Cole on the other  hand ;D

Besides I like to project my self loathing at my stupid stupid stupid relationship with food onto her because she's the stupid cow that trotted out that stupid "nothing tastes as good as skinny feels". The absolute worst bit is that she's right.

Sorry, in a bad mood right now...my body was craving carbs and i caved in and now I feel guilty about doing it. >:(

I think the picture is hot, and well done regardless of gender or identity.

God that word makes my skin crawl.

The word itself doesn't make my skin crawl.  Then again I usually hear when referring to automobile transmissions.  I'll refer to myself as one among friends when using self deprecating humor.  In any other context yes I very much dislike the word.

Eww can't they get a more voluptuous/ curvier girl to represent trans women...this girl looks like a skeleton. there are way way better looking girls out there that could have been on that cover.
