Well I've always had really hairy legs :( and they were so hard to shave. And I had a lot of hair on my stomach and a bit on my chest. I've shaved all those places around three months ago (too lazy to shave when it only lasts for a few hours lol plus I always forgot to buy a razor. It disappeared from the bathroom!) But I'm noticing my leg hair is a lot thinner and the hair on my chest hasn't grown back dark at all and the hair on my stomach is maybe half as bad as it was before. :) 31rst will be 4 months for me, so I guess I'd say I noticed changes 4 months in but idk when they started lol

I've noticed leg and chest hair growth has slowed dramatically. My beard still grows, but it now takes 2 days to get a 5 o'clock shadow.
and i know that i'm never alone
and i know that my heart is my home
Every missing piece of me

Yep, you will start to notice that your legs are the first to show signs of thinning and slower growth than usual. Then it kinda crawls up slowly to your chest.
I still get a few ingrowns (OUCH) around my bikini line.
My facial hair has slowed down but it's still a little thick and that's why I am getting Laser on that area first (face and neck).

Britney I think you started maybe a week or two later than I did (HRT).  I know that everybody has their own way of dealing with HRT but maybe we can compare the changes together. ;)

My face hair (can't say beard lol) grows in slower too =D

Mine has mostly disappeared after 33 months.  I did have a lot of body hair.  My arms are the only thing still is being stubborn and I still have dark hairs.

Facial hair is another thing.  It is mostly grey and slow growing, but it is still there.

My sister got our dads hairy arms but then it went away lol

I'd say, starting from the beginning of August (started prescribed HRT July 31st), by October the very few chest hairs I had went vellus and then away. Now I have literally three hairs that I just pluck every few months, and they are in areas I don't even really care about. Honestly, the rest, when I plucked them out, didn't come back. Now, take into account that my last period of self-medication was from January to the end of June, so that might skew the numbers.

I do have to say, while I would never advocate self-medication and think that anyone that does is toying with their life (seriously, don't do it), doing on-and-off medicating since I was 16 did have enormous benefits - I never had more than about 10 chest hairs, and my facial hair was (now that I realize how fast electrolysis has been going) only maybe 1/10th the thickness as normal males. Epic win! ;)

A year and a half on hormones. I never had much hair other than a bit on my arms and legs. A little around my belly button and right in the center of my chest. The worse part is my thighs..all other hair is so fine and light you can't even tell it is there. I let it go for a while so I went and got a full waxing and am back to using an epilator for upkeep. Screw shaving! If you get it all waxed you are good for a month or so and it is easy to maintain with an epilator once a week. Skin just can't feel silky smooth if it has stubble on it!

I've never had much body hair... But enough to need to wax my arm pits and lower leg area

Well, the last time I waxed, the leg hair hardly grew back at all... But oddly enough the arm pit hair came back with a vengeance  :P  I was thinking about waxing my pits tonight

If her experience with epilating and waxing is anywhere close to mine with shaving my legs, I'd understand if she doesn't want to keep doing it. In my case, shaving my legs leads to them being completely covered in ugly red swollen zit-like growths, which stay for a few days, and then go away, leaving half-centimeter-long hairs. I'd call it "ingrown", but that would be kinda understating what happens. And while they're present, I'm itching like crazy and it hurts to sit or lie down. So I have the choice between rug-covered legs or ones that resemble pepperoni pizzas. I've settled on shaving when they get "too long", and just enduring the discomfort, while hoping HRT will nuke the stuff.

No. With waxing, it only hurt when I actually pulled the wax off, then it was fine. Until I got to my knees and it wouldn't go past them. I swear I must have yanked that strip in every direction with my knee at every angle, until it was pink. And then months later I tried again and (same wax) I had the same problem. I guess I just can't wax myself. And with epilating it hurt like a bitch. So I shaved and let the hair grow back slowly. For two weeks I let it grow and tried to epilate and NOTHING. All I was left with were scratches on my arm. Probably a bad epilator but it was 70$ and I could barely afford that. So I can't afford a better one. I might as well go for the really nice one, get a professional wax and start epilating, but who knows when I'll have the extra cash. Name change, female wardrobe, electrolysis, and srs>>>>

It's all slowly getting finer and finer...what little hair i had on my back has now gone, and my chest is quite fine and silky now.

I know I shaved my chest twice I just can't remember cuz it was so long ago. Now any hair is really light. Still too much though :( They are growing and growing but so is (some) of the hair lol

I didn't have facial hairs ever even before HRT so cannot comment on that. As for hair in other body parts; I have some dark hairs on my arms but rarely shave it off cuz most girls seem to have hair of some sort on their arms and it doesn't bother me. I also have some hairs on my legs and can be easily removed with an electrical epilator (i'm using the Braun SilkEpil) before I'm planning to go to the swimming pool or wearing skirts or dresses in the summer etc. The only downside is that I have some red spots (skin irration) on my legs the day after I removed the hairs. But the hairs stay away for weeks :)...

For those really bothered by body hairs... it will get less and the hairs become less dark and less visible (thinner and finer) the longer you're on HRT.

Got to a professional for your first time and just get all of it waxed off. You won't regret it! If you then start epilcating once a week it won't hurt as bad and it can be done pretty quickly. It gets better each time. I tried doing it myself with wax and an epilator and just couldn't go through with it all. I actually yanked skin off in some sensitive places! Need money? Go sell plasma. :)

That's what I'll probably do once I get the money. Sell plasma? Huh?

Just googled it, I might look into that! :D

Eek... Not trying to disuade you from selling plasma, but you might want to look into how they do it before you go. On the other hand, I know a bunch of people from my school who make $60 a week doing it. I just couldn't really get the courage to do it myself...

I did the plasma trip for awhile... Admittedly I was scared to death at first but after a few visits it was no big deal  :)
