How can you tell if your binding too tightly?

Recently I've been having trouble breathing even without my binder on, like my chest is still compressed, even when it not. It even hurts sometimes. Could my binder be acting like a corset in a way, but for my higher rib cage? Or is it possible its just another pulled muscle.

Binding your chest is not a good idea, even with proper binders. There's always a risk you'll do yourself some damage.
Leave the binder off for a few days just to be safe and then try to wear it for under 8hrs per day.
Have you got the correct size binder for your measurements?

Try being binder free whenever at home or otherwise able...
And take DEEP deliberate breaths now and then.
That took the edge off for me.

When you say stuff like this:

Yeah, that's not right, kay. A binder will compress and can restrict your breathing but you shouldn't really feel it unless you're climbing stairs or otherwise exerting yourself. They can cause quite serious damage, get it checked out.
