There are lots of funny stories about the use of estrogen within the m to f TS community that might give a measure of humor to the bit if someone had asked the community itself. I, for instance, know of a friend who feared the chemical mix of a popular extreme diet pill and estrogen and swore that the combination gave her the "he-bie --she-bies." But the writers who created this SNL bit were determined only to show their own prejudices against this community by casting it with insensitive, narcissistic, bearded, characters to demonstrate what they see as the freakishness of this community.
