Hey everyone,
So I have had a few exciting things happen to me. I got gendered female at a restaurant despite not wearing makeup. It made me feel great and it happened again at a drive-thru yesterday. While I like wearing makeup, it seems I don't need it as much as I thought to pass and I may not wear it as much in day-to-day life.
I recently FINALLY met many of the Florida branch of Susan's members. They were great people and I hope to hang out with them some more in the future. It makes all the difference in the world to meet other transwomen and men in RL.
Finally, the most exciting news, today I got my Florida driver's license! Yay me! It feels so good to have an official form of ID with my real self pictured on it instead of him. My male name on it doesn't even bother me that much. It should make flying and other things much easier. I did have a little trouble getting them to accept my old driver's license as valid. The old man at the information desk took one look at my picture on it and showed it to me and said "This is
HIS license" as if I had given him the wrong one. I said "No, that is my license. That is why I want to get a new Florida one." He shrugged his shoulders and sent me on my way to the next station.
The guy there creeped me out a bit when he started talking about "weird" Craigslist personal adds and whether I read them although he was overall super-chatty and charming. I am not used to guys being so nice to me. It is a strange feeling. I am starting to get a peek of my future on this side of the gender divide and it can be a bit trippy.
So that's all from Florida for now. I'll keep you all updated from time to time, unless all of you decide it is boring.
