This doesn't exactly have to do with coming out, but I didn't know where to put this so I thought I'd just put it here. So I haven't come out yet. Yesterday I was watching the Super Bowl and my dad kept nagging at me. Wondering what else there possibly ws to be done after I'd done dishes, help made dinner, all my other house chores and my homework, I assumed my dad was just nagging at me for no reason like he always does. I just got angry and snapped back "dad, can you just let me watch the game for a minute?" So not having any idea that I am trans, my dad snorted and shot back "since when do you watch football?" I was kind of embarassed and upset for my dad judging me. How do I better deal with my dad or anyone else if this situation comes up again?

I don't know much about your relationship with your dad, but this sounds like one of those opportunities for a snappy comeback, such as, Since when did you?

Parents, including dads, know their kids really well, but often then just can't see beyond their own noses.

Since your dad is in the habit of niggling you, perhaps he has a reason, that even he isn't aware of.
