I used to love anime. Besides that girly ass animes that I used to watch (Sailor Moon, Tokyo Mew Mew, Peach Girl, etc.) I loved FMA (haven't watched Brotherhood yet), Inuyasha, Pokemon, Dragon Ball Z...I never actually watched Death Note, but apparently it's really good and I should watch it.

For me...
Monster, Ergo Proxy, NHK ni Youkoso!, S.E Lain, Paranoia Agent, Mindgame, Shigurui, Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei, Mononoke[kusuriuri], almost everything by Studio Ghibli, anything by Studio 4ÂșC ...
For great adventure anime: Seirei no moribito (26eps) and Sword of the stranger (film) are just my favourite ones. Assuming that everyone has read-saw-got Rurounin Kenshin.

Mind->-bleeped-<-s are my cup of tea, definitely. Good storyboard, nice animation, experimental things, nice sound.... for me, an anime has to be something more than just a bunch of high school girls with boobs and stupid faces making a rock band....

Oh and a very, very important thing in just three letter: V.O.S. I won't see anything dubbed. If it's made in japan, I want to hear japanese, if it's made in korea, I want to hear korean.... gawd I can't stand dubbs, and are getting worse each day. Subs for the win!

Agree 100%. I will not watch anything that is dubbed.

I love anime and manga. =] My favorite manga are Alichino, Dogs, and the Pretty Ladies Society Sleepover. My favorite animes are Dogs, Kuro->-bleeped-<-suji, and Higurashi no Naku Koro ni. I recently discovered that I hate dubbed anime though, like a lot of anime fans. XD the voices suck so bad. I prefer watching the original Japanese version with subtitles.

I love anime! I also love manga, but not as much as anime.

I love Death Note, Hourou Musuko, Vampire Knight, Darker Than Black, Evangelion (hated it before the movies), Majin Tantei Nougami Neuro... all sorts of stuff. And I have the same policy with anime as I do with books; if it's good, I'll watch it. Doesn't matter really to me if it's considered "girly", or for kids. Hell, I even watched Princess Tutu. XD

Is anyone else here on MyAnimeList? I'm here, if anyone is interested; http://myanimelist.net/profile/TheUnforgiven13

Also, SUBS FTW!!!  ;D

I'm picky about Anime, but I like a good enough amount of it. My fav is Cowboy Bebpop (not your typical anime for sure). I also liked Trigun, Samarai Champloo, Death Note ... I know there's others, I'm just spacing at the moment.

deathnote, but i burned out trying to watch all the episodes that i only got through 21 or 22 of them. maybe i was almost done?
cowboy bebop
fullmetal alchemist
wolfs rain looks and sounds awesome (saw a review online) and I'm pretty sure I'll like it, just have to find it somewhere
gungrave
grave of the fireflies
ponyo
my neighbor totoro
spirited away
princess mononoke
abenobashi's magical shopping arcade
used to watch DBZ and pokemon and Yu Yu Hakusho but Pokemon became mainstream and that kids loved it made it embarrassing for me to like it. it's a kids show, it's silly and zany in a kids way and by middle school i wasn't into it anymore and gave my pokemon toys to my 6 year old (at the time, he's now 18) cousin.
Yu Yu Hakusho and DBZ both had the problem that it got old and absurd after a while, each villain kept being more powerful than the last and it was all screaming and exploding lights and explosions shooting out of their hands.

there's a lot i should find somewhere and watch. and i can't remember them all and i agree on n earlier note, i find it dumb to watch it dubbed in english too, always in the original language and read english subs too!

Lul. I admit I had a horrible animu weaboo kawaii desu desu phase a long time ago. Thank goodness I outgrew it, but I kind of stayed away from anime/manga/j-rock/related things after that for a few years.
I'm just starting to get back into anime since my Dad really enjoys it when we watch shows together. We just finished Paranoia Agent last night and saw Paprika last week which were both good. The only problem is that he likes dubs and I like subs, but we usually end up watching dubs anyway because our tv is too small for the subs to be clear. Actually our next project is to tinker around with a very large flatscreen that my brother gave us because some of it's internal components got fried and it doesn't work. Maybe we'll get to watch subs after all.

I still go to a few anime cons with a group of friends every year. Not so much for the anime, but more for the community and the cosplay type stuff.

I used to a lot when I was younger, not so much now, it is just TV to me.  I will watch it if it is on, but do not go on the internet and watch videos, and am not the whole crazy for Japanese pop culture kid.  I'm more into watching American dramas now, like NCIS, Criminal Minds, and Supernatural, but mostly because my gf watches those I guess. She is also watching FMA brotherhood so I watch that.

I sometimes draw things in the manga japanese cartoon style, more so as a style I carried over when I was a fan, but I prefer the abstract.

I am a huge fan of Japanese horror, the creepy, weird stuff as opposed to the gore-porn most western things seem to be atm (not they aren't fun too). Right now I'm really into Junji Ito's mangas, like Uzumaki.

I love JHorror! Best horror movies ever! The American remakes ruin them.

I used to be between the ages of about 16-19.  Now I'm not interested at all, but still have some friends from my anime convention days.  Kinda 'graduated' to sci-fi now.  Have a few fond memories of certain anime series though.

Wow.  I haven't watched any in a while, but I used to like a few.  The main ones were DBZ, Gundam Seed, Rurouni Kenshin, Cowboy Bebop...I think that's it.  I had seen a few episodes of Yu-Yu-Hakusho and Inuyasha, but not enough to say I was a fan of them.  I've seen a couple episodes of Death Note and would like to watch the rest of them cause I really liked what I saw.  I can't really think of any others right now.

What about Gurren Lagann?! I bet anyone who saw it agree saying "it's the most manly anime ever!" plus that anime is like a boost of energy, each chapter you end, your body feels full of energy. Kamina you're like a god!!

I'm currently into the adorable yuri anime Aoi Hana, it's beautifully drawn and reminds me somewhat of Studio Ghibli's style.
I also like the Miyazaki ones, and a very cool cyberpunk one called Dennou Coil.
I really REALLY liked the part of Animatrix that was ., and the studio that made it is the one that made Dennou Coil.

I also read manga, am looking into reading a good yaoi one. Does anyone know a manga with a semi-realistic art style, not loads of cliches, and, well, generally good? I think I shouldn't dismiss the entire genre just due to screeching fangirls ruining my precious fandoms.

I would say go to mangafox.com and poke around the yaoi section or http://www.thespectrum.net/manga_scans/yaoi/ or http://aarinfantasy.com/. There a lots of good ones.

If you're into manga made for gay guys "Bara" Check out http://aarinfantasy.com/forum/tags/bara/ (have to register to see it) or http://forum.nihonomaru.com/marus-clubs/156414-bara-club-18-[yaoi].html  Bara tends to be more smut than story tho.

Here here! Haha, I'm an anime fan, have been for quite some time. Started out with Naruto, then got into Bleach, and some other mainstream stuff, but some of the animes I really enjoy are;; Detective Conan, Bus Gamer, AIR and True Tears. I help run an anime convention called Quad City Anime-Zing! I'm also a manga fan, but the only manga I now keep up with since OneManga's closing, is Nononono, it's a gender-bender and I rather enjoy it. I'm more of an asian dramas like Majisuka Gakuen, Mendol Ikemen Idol, and You're Beautiful just to name a few.  But yeah, anime fan here :D
