So I'd been wanting to wait until I started therapy to contact HR so I could have all my little ducklings in a row, but sadly things are starting to fly at work and I need to get the jump on them.  Perhaps if the therapy person I contacted hadn't been dragging their feet :grumble:
Anyways, the time has come and come quickly.  But what do I TALK to them about?  The coming out guide sticky is pretty clearly more for office settings, and I work store-level retail.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I used the "Transition Package" to come out to work.  I modified it to fit my situation.  I work retail at the time too.

Properly not the way I did it.
I just turned up to the work christmas party with makeup on, confused a lot of people then had a nice drunken chat with the managers later on the evening when we had all had way too much to drink.
couldn't have gone any better if I tried.

I still haven't had the official talk with HR, but I am planning to just try and do that casually next time I am in the main office.

I think you should start by figuring out how careful you will need to be. The available options will all depend upon the company environment, how people see you, your skill at what you do, laws, attitudes.
