Washing yourself regularly with rice vinegar will slow down your sweat quite a lot. It's like a magical potion for me, specially in the summer. Just pick a towel, damp it on rice vinegar, and rub all your body with it after the shower. It's refreshing, good for your skin, and it will reduce the sweating. I heart apple vinegar is similar, but I've only had nice results with rice vinegar. You can dilute it with water if you feel is too harsh for your skin.
I won't recommend anti perseperant because your skin just needs to breath and sweat. The smell is from the rotten dead bacteria not the sweat itself. So there're more things you can do to prevent your cells to rot (the vinegar is a nice option, lemon is also your friend, as far as you don't have irritation or cuts!) or any desinfectant thing... you know those little towels they give you in the restaurant which are basically a paper towel plus lemon? they work wonders. Just carry always some on your wallet and rub with them your pits when you start sweating (you can do that in the bathroom, if in a public area). The baking soda, silica gel, talc etc is a nice option too, but quite messy and can leave marks on clothing.
IMHO, any deodorant that prevents you from sweat is just not good for you. Your body sweats for a reason, detoxifing in general, and your skin just needs to refresh itself. Putting anti-perspirant deodorant would be like closing the mouth of a panting dog. I know a lot of people use them with no problem, but in my opinion, it's better to get rid of the sweat...once you've sweated.
