TAXPAYERS have footed a $633,000 bill for plastic surgery - including breast reduction and breast implant operations - on military personnel in the past three years.

Defence Minister Stephen Smith has revealed the figure in response to a query from opposition frontbencher Stuart Robert.

Australian Defence Force members had 60 procedures, considered plastic surgery, between December 1, 2007, and October 28, 2010.
