A SEX-swap writer who sparked fury with a play portraying Jesus as a transsexual has been handed £10,000 taxpayers' cash to write a poem about more made-up Bible gender benders.

Jo Clifford, 60, was given an arts handout from public funds to write "poetic fiction that explores the issues of transgender in the Old and New Testaments".

It comes after Jo - who used to be a bloke called John - caused outrage with her play Jesus Queen of Heaven which centred around a transgender female Christ returning to Earth.
