Taking out a loan for surgeries

Considered it, Yes...Will I do it...No
Have done it
Cannot do it, do not have the credit or too young
I have raised money other ways
All or most of mine was paid outta pocket
My insurance cover all or most of it
I want to do it, and hope I will get my surgeries done this way

I will be getting a loan to cover the balance of what I can't save. I want this to be done sooner rather than later and realistically a loan is the fastest way.

I'm shooting for early next year (need to get the BA and GCS done before my sister's wedding).  Loan is looking like a distinct possibility.

That's my aim as well...class of 2012 here we come!

I have enough money already, but if I needed to I certainly would.  It really depends on one's individual circumstances though...

For example, having no debt (or easily manageable debt) and some of the money in cash would make it a very easy decision.  Having lots of debt and zero cash would make it a very hard decision or impossible depending on whether you could even get the loan in that situation.

I have a fair amount of school debt but my income can now support it.  I'm going to try to save as much as I can and by that time my credit should be impeccable.

$18,500 for GCS with McGinn + $6000 for a BA = $24,500 for surgery alone.  Fortunately it's a quick jaunt across the state so no expensive airfare.  They probably won't be done at the same time as I plan to get the BA this summer.
