Too true Tekla, that's what Universities are for aren't they?
If not, then that one is going down the drain at a great rate.

The shocking and disturbing etc should be part of college life, regrettably, Bailey's little stunt just added another reel to adult entertainment that always has a set story line and set  boringly predictable outcome.  There is no attempt at artfulness or originality.  Maybe it is science in the fact that its outcome is so predictable, but what point of enlightenment about anything has been demonstrated??  I can add vinegar to baking soda as well as the next sixth grader and get carbon dioxide gas and a stream of water pushed out of a nozzle.  I see his stunt on that level.   Next time do it in a circus tent and see if the elephants care.
I refuse to have a war of wits with a half armed opponent!!

Wiser now about Post Op reality!!

Northwestern professor apologizes after sex demonstration

The beleaguered Northwestern University professor who allowed a live sex show on campus last month issued a tepid, slightly defensive apology Saturday, saying that while he wouldn't make the same decision again, he would give those who disapprove of what he did an "F" for their arguments.

"Those who believe that there was, in fact, a serious problem have had considerable opportunity to explain why: in the numerous media stories on the controversy, or in their various correspondences with me," J. Michael Bailey, a psychology professor, wrote in a statement. "But they have failed to do so. Saying that the demonstration 'crossed the line,' 'went to far,' 'was inappropriate,' or 'was troubling' convey disapproval but do not illuminate reasoning."

Sex-Toy Prof Sorry — Sort Of
Controversial Northwestern University professor J. Michael Bailey has issued an apology over the uproar caused by a sex-toy demonstration for students, but he thinks his critics have not made a convincing case against it.

The Northwestern University professor at the center of a controversy over a sex-toy demonstration for students issued what the Chicago Tribune calls "a tepid, slightly defensive apology" Saturday.

Psychology professor J. Michael Bailey (pictured), who has previously been the target of criticism by LGBT people, said he will never allow anything like the demonstration, in which a man penetrated a woman with a phallic object attached to a device resembling a power saw, to happen again, and he regretted the uproar it had caused, but he thought critics had not made reasoned arguments.
