http://home.earthlink.net/~hellpasopunk/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderfiles/LynnvoiceLoRez.mp3

heres the evil facimily of my old voice... I couldnt get it quite right...
http://home.earthlink.net/~hellpasopunk/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderfiles/barryloRez.mp3

Tell me what you think.... This was with out any speach theripy, or any formal training.... this was figured out after a brief look at what mellany<sp?> phillips had for free on her site a few years ago.... I didnt practice it then but I remembered, and bits and pieces Ive gleaned off the forums and chat  :)

and heres Bri's before and facimily after  :)

Our uber bouncy boy crazy IRCop now:
http://home.earthlink.net/~hellpasopunk/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderfiles/brianna.mp3

and heres her attempt at before.....:
http://home.earthlink.net/~hellpasopunk/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderfiles/hewhoshallnotbenamed.mp3
Now what do you think of hers  :)

Id like to hear examples of any voices before and after that any of you would like to provide....
and the basics of how you found your female voice... I want to compile research on the subject and come out with a comprehensive  "This works" for just about everyone.....

Wow!!!!!!!

Lynn, that is great. I need to find out what you did, and do that. That for sure sounds like a woman's voice. Any help you can give me or point me in a direction, I would appreciate it.

Thanks in advance.

Love always,
Elizabeth

I got my voice where it is by speaking with Bri.... My home life in EP dosnt give me any time or chance to practice.... my family just wont tollorate it.....

Thanks for the imput everyone.....

What Id like is for everyone else who has managed to get there voice up there to post here with examples of there then and now's and maby send an E-mail as to how they got there.... if you dont have a place to post it for upload, e-mail it to me in a low grade mp3 and I'll put them up....  LynnER@susans.org

Im trying to compile a list of practices and methods on how to acheave a female voice and sort through all the junk and the sucessful parts and maby write a book on it... (with each posters permission ofcorse) :)    *Hugs*

not really a professional on this but you both sound terrific.  lynnER's sounds [more relaxed] than brianna's.  i've heard that to keep your voice smooth, you need  [humidity and/or a humidifier] as well as plenty of water during sessions.

Lynn, your new voice is very impressive :)

I have sent you an email about voice samples.

I have used the free spectrogram program from http://www.genderlife.com/voicetutor/spectro_setup.htm which includes free instructions on how to set the programme up.

I found that I start OK but drop off the longer I talk. Practice, Practice ......

Good idea for a thread.  I just got my microphone working, so here's mine:

For references, here's my old male voice as best as I could get it (I think pretty close):
http://www.melissagirl.com/sounds/oldmale.mp3

Also, I recorded my laugh after the first encoding program I tried garbled my file up and it sounded like a chipmunk in a blender or something:

Also, I have to agree with Katia's assessment. :)

Lynn this is great what do ya mean not polished? Sounds very much female to me. More than myself at the moment, but I'm working on it. Good work....

Brianna sounds great....

I decided to throw my hat in the ring so to speak and upload my voice  :)  Let me know what you think and keep in mind that I have only practiced for a total of maybe 2 hours.

Allright?  are you kidding? you are very modest, hon.   you are doing WONDERFULLY WELL.  Congratulations Charlotte!  I know the effort it takes to get there; therefore, you get a karma star from me today.  Keep it up, and don't force it too much, you don't want to ruin that beautiful voice of yours.  You sound perfect! :)

Aww!  Your so sweet!  Thank you for leaving a comment and I appreciate the praise.  I suppose we are our worst critics and I am one that is not satisfied with less than the best of my ability.  It takes me a little effort to find just the right pitch.  I hope with a little more practice I can find the exact point at will and therefore not strain my voice  :)

Allright... Heres Megan  (aka MeganRose)  She asked me to go ahead and post this one up for her... Im going to run out of webspace here pretty soon LoL....  anyways

And heres Megan Rose: http://home.earthlink.net/~hellpasopunk/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderfiles/megan1.mp3

PS: you sound awesome Charlotte.... Keep up the practice and youll do great.... oh, and women do tend to speak allot faster then men (atleast where Im from) so dont worry about your speed  :)

I think she definitely sounds great as well.  I love the accent.  It helps when you have an Australian accent. :D

Thanks for hosting that for me Lynn :).

And thanks, Tinkerbell. I don't know why, but I swear my accent has become a bit stronger since I started using that voice. Well, except for the times where I accidentally start using a New Zealand accent instead - I have no idea how I picked it up seeing as I've never been there, I didn't even realise I was doing it until a lot of customers at work started asking if I was from the north or the south island :).

LoL, speaking of accents.... I have to try really hard not to have a valley girl, semi british, or scotch irish accent when I speak.... Before killing the boy voice Id frequently sound semi british or scottish... sometimes irish....  It was allot of fun on the phones or at the bars.....  would have been really embarasing if I had done the valley girl back then  ;D

OMG, you guys sound sooooo good!  I am soooo jealous!  Charlotte, Lynn, and Megan.... sheeesh!  You are sooooo good.  Bri doesn't count... cause she's a girl to begin with.  The rest of us have to <larn> this stuff.  And Megan!  I love the accent!  You'd get by famously here in the states my dear.

okay you guys... you have kept me up all night trying to figure this stuff out... and you have coaxed me to do something I haven't done in years... pull out the ole infamous you know who.  It's only appropriate I suppose with things that have happened recently.  I had to check it out and see if it still worked.... turns out it's not hard at all.  No, the ole voice is far to easy to recall... bummer!

So here I am

http://www.cindijones.com/myvoice/PinusContortus.wav

And one more of me for good measure.... you know before you get to the ahem.... other thing.

http://www.cindijones.com/myvoice/DriveOfYouth.wav

And the old me

http://www.cindijones.com/myvoice/TwoOfUs.wav

I'm sorry they are wav files...  I haven't figured out how to convert them and compress them, so if you don't have a high speed connection, they might take a bit to download.

Wow, you all sound amazing. I tried doing a woman's voice and I just sound like a cartoon character. And I can't get nearly as high as some of you.

I'm going to assume you didn't mention me because you've heard my voice before, although I think it's improved so much since I put up my voice a while back.

Thank you for the compliment :)  Its funny, but I still hear quite a bit of my male voice when I listen to it.  I don't expect it to be drastically different, but I would love to tweak it just a bit more.  MY GF and friends didn't believe it was me when they heard the recording over the phone.  I suppose others have more of an ear for change.  I find self evaluation very challenging in all aspects of transition.  I have been quite impressed with everyone who has posted how far they have come.  It's quite inspirational really.
