I legally use my step-dad's last name right now and I hope to change that when I change my first and middle names. One thing my therapist mentioned is that it might be difficult to change my last name because of reasons to do with fraud (I forget exactly what he said).
Is there any truth to this? Or should I just put my new last name on my application like anything else?
