Well I finally made an appointment and went to see a therapist that's about 2 1/2 hours away. It was originally scheduled for later this week but they bumped it up to today. It was a bit of a drive and I forgot to pitstop before I left, very bad idea! I got there a bit late and there was some paperwork to fill out which I hastily attended to since the clock was ticking on my session.

I went in for my session and the therapist was very nice, I liked her personality. We ran through the paperwork and then touched base on a few of the issues as well as what my real issue was (why I was seeing her). I'm not sure if it helped me to tell her all the things or not as I felt a little nervous but I'm always that way until I get to know someone. Anyway, she asked me what my goal was in coming to her and I said to get on hormones. We ran through a few more topics then she said she would grab me some papers with a few references (It's a thick paper! Very handy list I must say) and she said she wouldn't have any problem writing a letter to an endocrinologist but felt another session or two was in order since we didn't get the whole time talking about things.

I feel like I've really made the first step and some serious progress! Not only that but have found a great therapist. I am a very happy camper tonight

Oh one thing I sort of messed up today... There was a question graph thing at the finish where I filled out a bunch of questions about my mental thoughts and I accidentally answered that I had rarely felt like I might do something I regret at school work when I meant to say never. It was in regards to the violence section. Oops!  :icon_ashamed: I'm like the most non-violent person haha, oh well... It was a mistake I will just let her know next time I see her at our next appointment, in two weeks!

Sounds like my first session too. I wouldn't worry to much about the questionnaire as they are generally pretty broadly based.  A lot of my answers fell between never and rearely for instance.

I have a good therapist who is able to give me info about support groups etc, that I have not seen elsewhere, and lots of other stuff.

Cheers, Karen.
