Whats the difference between...

#1. a Ci-Female Lesbian who is considered pretty masculine by herself and her peers according to the culture in which she lives

and

#2. a straight Transgender Man in the same culture as above, also considered pretty masculine by himself and others, who may or may not have the desire to undergo HRT or Sexual Reassignment Surgery in the future.

Is the only difference the fact that #2 identifies as a man and #1 does not?

Agreed, I see it as the difference between (for want of better terms) wanting to be masculine, and wanting to be male. If society had the flexibility (as you say) for people to be as masculine or feminine (in our current perception of what that means, which would be redundant by then) as they wanted, there would still be people who wanted to be the other gender.

Sorry for all the parentheses, it feels necessary to qualify the hell out of any statements about gender/behaviour/etc. :)

A cis female lesbian is a person who is assigned female at birth, identifies as a woman and is emotionally, physically, spiritually, mentally, etc attracted to women. They do not identify as men. They do not identify their bodies as being male and have no desire to physically transition.

A straight trans male is a person who is assigned female at birth, identifies as a man and is emotionally, physically, spiritually, mentally, etc attracted to women. They identify as men. They identify their bodies as being male and have a desire to physically transition.

Straight trans males, just like cis lesbians can identify their identity/expression in different ways such as fem, butch, fluid, stone, etc.

I'm intrigued - what's "stone"?
Somebody who identifies with being stone for the most part doesn't liked to be touched sexually. Some are uncomfortable with partners seeing them nude.

I do actually believe that many butch lesbians experience a form of "dysphoria" but I think it is primarily social (rejection of masculine females, shame) as opposed to biological (as seen in a transman).
It's more about social rejection of homosexuality than of masculinity.

A heterosexual masculine (or tomboy) female is usually accepted without a problem.
A heterosexual feminine female is accepted without a problem.
A homosexual masculine female isn't.
A homosexual feminine female still isn't accepted much differently than a masculine one.

It more-so reaches into stereotypes where people assume that homosexuals want to be the opposite sex/ are transgenders or that being gay actually defines their gender traits.
Both being completely wrong thoughts since gender and homosexuality are entirely different from one another. This also applies to masculinity and femininity. It's just about that person's interests really. oh well.

But a lot of homosexuals may still feel that dysphoria due to social rejection even if it's the most girly girl who loves everything about being a female.

though, it might not be like that so much in other countries.
