I know this is a fairly common problem but yet it's seldom ever talked about.

Many girls like me are on the opposite side where our metabolism runs so fast that it makes it near impoosible for us to gain necessary weight for breast and fanny growth while on HRT. I've been eating a box of donuts or something to that effect every night for a couple weeks now all to no effect. And I cut back on all exercise so I just work and sleep and eat.

Does anyone who used to be a greenbean have any reccomendations on how I can finally get some real curves?
6'1" and still around 140lb, for the past 16+ years.

eat starchy foods, chip sandwiches, chocolate by the killo, sit around the house and office doing very little walking might help, wasn't there an episode of the Simpsons where Homer went onto a weight gain diet?  oh and for the record in the UK fanny is a colloquialism for vagina ;)

I just lost 60 pounds in the last 4 months just because it was making me look to manly. I was not on hrt at the time. If you smoke it is the enemy of weight gain. I plan to eat like a pig after I get on hrt. I may be asking this same question in the future. lol.

Update: I weighed myself at 152 lb this weekend! Now if I can only manage to keep it on. And I had 5 klondike bars yesterday. My ass is starting to fill out because I didn't have to wear padding in my size 1 jeans yesterday! Pantyhose seems to help a bit too, though I don't like them and will continue to only wear pantyhose when I wear cerain shoes that require it...

PEANUT BUTTA  lotsa peanut butter
Ick and triple Ick and quadruple Ick. Peanut butter utterly repulses me now! My tastes are beginning to change slightly this year finally. I actually like riesling wine now, never could stand the smell of any wine before. And I used to like peanut butter. And I used. To be completely addicted to cereal but haven't touched the stuff much lately.
Thinking of going out for another box of donuts tonight...

Now there's a pretty good idea. Would be easy to drink my calories. I've been thinking of starting to drink soda but my body has never been able to tolerate carbonation. Where's a cheap place that has good milkshakes? Or how do I make my own?
I think I need to slow it down just a bit, so maybe two late night milkshakes would be best to make sure I don't fall below 150 yet don't rise above 160 any time soon. I ate normally today once again today: 2 things of yogurt, and 5 bananas for lunch, lots of water, and an apple for dinner.... feels good to eat how I used to :-)

100 posts!!

Part of the reason you can't gain is the amount of calories you are taking in.  That is very many.  And Mac and Don's has cheap shakes.  So does Burger thing and Wendy's.

I had a friend who had to gain weight.  Don't remember why, but it was medically necessary.  She had shakes for breakfast, lunch and dinner, for the drink.  She gained fairly quickly.

Or if you want to make your own.  Whole milk, real ice creme and whatever else you want.

To gain weight, stop counting calories.

You should enjoy being thin while you can... Eventually you'll get old and your metabolism will change and then you'll be trying to lose weight

I've only just started counting calories for the first tim in my life last month in making sure to eat around 3000 calories a day. 10 calories per cent is the cheapest yet still very tasty way I've found. I've been thinking about shakes since your post and I don't think I can do it. I need more foods with substance like pastries in relation to what I drink unless it's water. I tend to feel sick if I have a lot of sugary fluids :-(

I have thoroughly enjoyed it!
Correct me if I'm wrong, but even with a slow metabolism, won't you lose weight if you simply stop eating? I've been anorexic (for all intents and purposes) in the past during the times I've wanted to get below 130. No one who is as tall as I am ever looks good when they're that skinny though.
I know my metabolism will eventually slow down and when it does my plan is to eat even less than I had been, to compensate for it! Hope it works that way ;-)

Sorry to pop my head in but Rabbits sometimes when you don't eat much your body can go into starvation mode so it will store all of the fat from whatever you do eat. Maybe a better strategy when you reach that point would be getting cheese, crackers, granola bars, and other stuff to munch on throughout the day. It's better to do it that way than to not eat, no disrespect meant it's just what I've heard from many weightloss trainers.

As for weightgaining definitely milkshakes. My friend used to have the issue of putting on weight and that is how she did so. Also I've heard eating more meat can help pack on the pounds. Good luck :) Wish I could trade you, I'm trying to loose a good 50 lbs some of which is annoyingly sitting in the rear area.

When I have all this set in motion, I see myself becoming vegan in the coming years :-)
I've tried in the past but people are always telling me to eat meat and eggs, atleast butter is yummy and I have nothing bad to say about cooking with butter! But eggs and meat, bleh.

We could be sisters, for all intents and purposes! I love a clean kitchen, which results in me cooking as little as possible. Hence, all the fruits and veggies and bread and water I regularly have. And then when I do make pasta I only ever just use the same pot to cook the entire meal. I'm so thankful that the place of business I work at ooks meals daily so I can have a larger lunch!
I'm on such little spiro at the moment that I don't think bananas will cause any problems (25 mg twice a day). The finasteride is awesome as a replacement blocker.
And no, i'm not even a veggie yet, but when I do go that route I plan to go all the way.
I'm quit pleased at how my ass is shaping up these days!

I'm 5'5" and 114 lbs now, I'm nervous about it as I usually fatten up in the winter (135-150) then go back to about 125 when the summer heat ruins my appetite. As an adult, I've never been this thin. And I eat like a pig, fried food all I want, those donuts, it doesn't matter, I have one of those feet that always taps thing going on and I just burn off anything I eat. It's nice to know I'm not alone I was going to ask for advice at the weight loss forum, but was afraid I'd get run out of town!

To gain weight, you need to consume more calories every day than you burn with physical activity. You can also gain weight by increasing the size of your muscles. Start with a calorie calculator to determine the number of calories you you'll need to consume every day to gain weight. You'll probably need to increase your calorie intake, and you can do that by eating a larger volume of food or by choosing foods that are energy-dense (high in calories).
Either way, you should choose foods that are nutrient-dense instead of settling for high-calorie junk foods. Nutrient-dense foods include fruits, vegetables and whole grains. Foods that are both energy- and nutrient-dense include legumes, nuts, seeds, olives, and avocados. You may also want to increase your consumption of dairy products, meats, seafood and poultry. Use seasoning blends, herbs and spices to add flavor and aroma.

The main goal is to increase your overall intake of calories every day; it doesn't really matter if you eat more meals or increase the size of the meals you eat right now. If you're not used to eating much at any one time, you may prefer to eat several small meals or snacks throughout the day. If you'd rather eat three meals each day, increase your portion sizes or add more foods to each meal.

I'll trade you for my poor metabolism.  Eat bagels with cream cheese and cheesecake and soda every day and that should do the trick.
