Ha ha, had this happen.  She couldn't understand when I told her I had never had one, so I had to explain the scenario to help her understand.  Poor dear, I felt a bit sorry for her....but I still kept laughing at her plight.

PAP smear, periods, when someone asks if you have a spare tampon, when mothers and daughter drop their clothes in front of you (to change) without hesitation, when someone asks you about your own PMS, cramps, or flow, when YOU have no hesitation about being naked in front of other women, when men talk to your boobs ..... and the list goes on and on .....

yes hard to remember last time a man looked at my face for more then 2s before staring down again, lol how things change

When your own parents use the correct pronouns and name!

Still working on that one with my dad, though my mom is making significant progress.

When upon meeting your new electrologist she asks you if the hair on your face is a hormonal issue or family trait! Happened to me yesterday. I know not strictly a post-op thing, but had to share!
and i know that i'm never alone
and i know that my heart is my home
Every missing piece of me
I can find in a melody

This week I went to a skin specialist.  She examined me and we talked for a while about what could cause the problem for women.  I asked about one medication and she kept telling me that it wasn't recommended for women (interferes with fetal development and hasn't been tested thoroughly on women).  Finally, I said: "I think there's something I should tell you..."  She just looked at me and said: "Well, you completely fooled me."  Then she would talk about the issue.  Then she would say: "You just really fooled me."  She couldn't get over it.  She must have said it half a dozen times.

It was a huge boost to my confidence. ;D  Unbelievably, I think I'm finally there. :icon_chick:

37 years on and I am STILL getting those awkward questions!

Nurse: When was your last period?
Me: I don't have periods.

Nurse: When did you go through menopause?
Me: I didn't. I have never had periods.

Nurse: BLANK STARE
Me: I was born without ovaries or a uterus.

Nurse: Oh my! I am sorry!
Me: Me to ......

When you go to your GP for bladder infection and he asks if you're having any menstrual problems as well... :P

Doctor; do you have problems with your menstrual cycle?
Me; no I don't... I have to tell you I'm a transsexual
Doctor; ooh. really, so you're going to transition from girl to boy... must be really though! (I'm MtF)
Me; well, I have transitioned many years ago
Doctor; never would have guessed. Now I see why you don't have periods *still confused*

LOL... Just remembered this.
many years ago (after transition) I was at a doctors office for a medical check up for employment.
I was in the gown when the doctor came in, rummaged through a drawer and got out a speculum...
"Put your feet in the stirrups and relax" he said.
But Doctor, I am a preop ts. Says I.
Really? May I look? After that he left the room.
A few seconds later a nurse came in, picked some thing up off a table, turmned, looked at me and left.
A minute later another nurse did the same thing.
Hehehe. They looked soooo confused  :)

I got the job  :)

Being called a "bitch" by angry customer.  Really happened to me.  Tried to explain to a customer why some was taken before him.  They were waiting longer.

He gets all bent out of shape and calls me a "bitch".  Two male customers came to protect me.  But the jerk left.
