HRT - Charring Cross GIC

I guess this is a question mainly for those of you in the UK, particularly England. Back in November 2010 I had a refferal made to Charring Cross GIC in London and received an appointment a few weeks later for August 2011 which is 10 months down the line, Is this normal practice to be made to wait this long? Would I be worth asking them to maybe try and move the appointment forward a little?
