My oldest friend

I saw my oldest friend last week, for the first time in a long while - I'd been determined to tell him what's going on in my life, since I've outed myself to a lot of other people. So we were out on his veranda, and before I got to drop my bombshell, he dropped one by asking me to be ungodlyfather* to his younger son (I'm already ungodlyfather to his eldest).

So I thanked him, said I'd be delighted, and said: but I have something to tell you... and then told him that at some point, I was going to end up their ungodlymother instead . He took it well .

*I would be their godfather/mother, but it turned out that as an ordained Buddhist I wasn't allowed to attend his eldest's christening (long and weird churchy story), so we decided I was his ungodlyfather instead, and that my role is to subvert his religious upbringing ... and now I have two minions, mwahahahah etc.

Wow... talk about timing! 

I actually had something similar happen to me.  I came out to one of my oldest friends (2nd-oldest, to be exact) two months back.  Three weeks ago, his girlfriend let slip that, before I came out, I had already been inked in as the best man for their wedding.  Oops...    But now I get to be a bridesmaid!

Congraduations Padma. It's good to hear that he took it well. Hearing stories like this are very heartwarming.

Congradulations to you too JungianZoe. Wow a bridesmaid, I'm sure that you're going to look lovely. I hope you show us photos.
