CHENNAI: Too scared to face the public as a transgender but an indomitable will to lead a dignified life made the 26-year-old Sandhya join an art troupe three years ago.

Today, the group has 25 confident transwomen, who joined the Liberation Performing Arts Troupe (Viduthalai Kalai Kuzhu) with a passion for music and dance. And after their recent performance at the South Asian Conference on Violence against marginalised women at Nepal, it looks like the group is going places.
