LostInTime

Location #1:  Greensboro, NC
When:  Saturday, February 10, 2007, 1-4:30p

Location #2:  Raleigh, NC
When:  Sunday, February 11, 2007, 1-4:30p

Equality NC Foundation is partnering with the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) to present free basic media workshops in Greensboro on Saturday, February 10 and in Raleigh on Sunday, February 11.

Whether you are a leading spokesperson for an LGBT organization frequently speaking with the media or just someone who wants to learn about the media and how to talk about our lives to others, you will find value in this workshop.

As we work every day for equality, it is essential our voice is represented in the media.

Learn how to communicate effectively with reporters and your community on LGBT issues of faith, family, marriage, and discrimination. The workshop will provide tools for developing your personal message to the media, building relationships with journalists and conducting interviews with print, radio and TV reporters. The workshop is interactive and will include a copy of the workshop outlining essential media strategies. GLAAD Southern Media Strategist Alex Shoor will facilitate the trainings.

The workshops are offered free of charge, but are limited to 30 participants and will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Send RSVPs to shoor@glaad.org.

I hope you can join us for one of these great trainings.

Yes, I will be at one of them.  :)  Click on the location cities to get the full information for each location.

Update!

The response for the Raleigh location was so strong that they had to find a new venue in Cary.  RSVP now as there is plenty of extra space.
