On Tuesday I celebrated my 36th birthday & it was the happiest birthday i've ever had.

2 women friends of mine took me into Bristol for a girly days shopping, we started with a quick drink & then several hours of browsing & buying, whilst my money was limited I managed to find several tops & a new skirt that are just fabulous, for most of the day I managed to forget that I was a man & I truly felt like a woman, the only times I was reminded about being a man is when my friends asked questions about what i'm going through (but I have encouraged them to feel comfortable to ask any questions they may have).
When I got home I spent the next few hours having my own personal fashion show & loved every second of it.
At no point did I feel uncomfortable or nervous about being out in public as a woman even though my makeup doesn't completely hide my five o'clock shadow & it was without a doubt the best birthday ever.

When I got home I recieved the best present yet, I phoned the doctors to enquire if the referal letter had been sent to the specialist in London, I was advised that this is due to be done by the psychiatrist i've seen & when I spoke to his receptionist I was told that the letter has now been sent, happy days, things are finally getting under way

I am eternaly gratefull to these 2 women for taking me under their wing & for not only taking me out on a shopping trip but offering their advice on what clothes suit my current figure & being patient with my inexperience in all matters regarding female fashion, they have made this special day even more special.

My gratitude is overflowing, thank you Emma & Sam for welcoming me into the sisterhood

Very happy for you, you brought a smile to my face just reading about your happiness, especially on your birthday at that, this day should always be one of joy, its not always, but should be.

Thank you Megan, the people posting on this forum have encouraged me to take the plunge & do what's needed to chase my dream of inner happiness.
I feel an obligation to post any positive experiences & to try to help others to face their fears, don't hide in the shadows filled with shame, step out into the sunshine, dance, sing & celebrate who & what you are inside because if you can't be happy with yourself then you'll never be happy with others around you.
