Oh, Spring, please come back!  This cold rain/snow stuff really sucks.  I know I've been chained to my computer looking for a job all week long, but it sure would be nice to get outside and enjoy you in the evenings.  If only you would come back.

Pleeeeeeeease, Spring?  I'll do all the dishes if you'll give us another chance!  I swear...

Old man winter got hungry.

Incidentally, spring went missing.

Nooooooo!!!  That's it.  I'm launching an inquiry.  :icon_suspicious:

But I think I'll start by sitting in the bath for awhile and looking at the water.  I'd try laying down in the bath, but I'm too tall for that.  Can I cut a hole through the wall into my neighbor's bathroom so I can enjoy my bath properly?

I'd gladly trade the sunshine down here for some snow. My body just isn't built for the heat.  :'(

Well, you could, it's a very possible possibility!
For all I know, your neighbor might like it too.

I also hear that staring at the water is the perfect way to begin an inquiry. Putting too much effort in at the get-go just causes migraines, whereas staring at water while having a vague thought every now and then, gets things going nice and gently.

The case should be solved sometime within somethings life, hopefully.

Not going to lie, I prefer wintry weather to summery weather. Spring is okay when it's just exiting winter, but then it gets hot which I dislike.
I like my temperatures being 5-14 C personally. Could be because I have more issues than you can shake a stick at so I always wear jeans and a hoodie, though.

I also happen to be a vampire so the sun burns my eyes, and skin, and - *hears a sizzle* - *flees to the cave*

You Americans are lucky, you at least get a Summer every year.   Here in GB and especially here in Scotland we get slate grey skies and near continuous rain.  If the temperature reaches the high 60s low 70s everyone goes crazy, and if we get three days in a row of this it is called a heatwave and the media start talking about hosepipe bans and suggesting that people take baths together.   I wonder how we Scots would cope with Deep South/Texas summers where it is 110 degrees in the shade and soooo humid?

...suggesting that people take baths together.

And your complaint is...?  :eusa_dance:

Oh, wait.  I just pictured some of my neighbors.  Point taken!!

As for winter, everyone else can have it if they want!  For me, if it's under 75, it's hibernation time.  That's why I keep my apartment at 83.  ;D

All I can hope for now is that this lull in the rain/snow crap holds out a bit longer.  My friend's flight, which was supposed to get in at 11:30, is an hour and a half delayed.  The plane she's supposed to be taking TO Denver is still sitting IN Denver.  Then it has to come back to Denver before there's any point in me making the 45-minute (one-way) drive to the airport, which is so far away because state officials thought it would be hysterical if they located Denver's airport in a different state than Denver.

Seriously, who opened the idiot box today?  They've escaped!!!  Bra. Vo. :eusa_clap:

I used to start shivering when the temp dropped below 75, until I got fat-ish.  Now it's more like 70.

All this talk of preferring Winter to Spring is confusing and disturbing.  Oh and it makes me MAD!  Y'all better stop it!

It isn't the heat I object to about spring / summer so much as the sunlight. It gives me headaches because my eyes are photosensitive. Sunny days tend to send me scurrying for the shadows. I have more pairs of sunglasses than most women have pairs of shoes.

Zoe,
I live in the same area.  You should've gotten out more in the mild winter we had.  I had gotten enough vitamin D from the sun this winter for doing things outside in short shirtsleeves.  The skin on my arms are already tanned and the soft skin is a bonus.  Yes, I used the SPF 70 lotion.  I admit that the windy April was a bummer.  My house is set at 60 degrees all winter, no change from before HRT.  This storm ends tonight with sunny days ahead.  This last rain storm just gave me more snooze time.

You mean, more vitamin D than I buy at the store every time it's on sale?

*ahem*  :icon_redface:  What can I say?  It's mama's little helper!  Oh, and my microwave says hi too.

The mild winter sure was nice, but even one day of dreary leaves me shaky, and two makes me crumble.  I spent a solid three hours crying today because of this stupid storm.  :(  I could barely do any job searching because of it.  I'm incredibly sensitive to the weather.  Like, STUPIDLY sensitive.

Give me 75+, windows rolled down, sunroof open, music blasting every day of the week, every day of the year! ;D  Well, it can rain once every few weeks just to remind me how beautiful a sunny day is.  And to appreciate the sound of rain.  Actually, warm rain storms are beautiful when they roll in, drop, and slide away.  The smell afterward... oh, how I can't wait to smell it now that I'm on HRT.  This spring was more vibrant to me than any spring before, and probably because it's the first one I saw in 10 years.  I no longer want to be in my apartment for any reason... but until I find a job, here I'm stuck.

Update: flight got pushed back to 2:30 AM.  I don't think I'm going to put makeup on now.

And Jen, I kept hoping that would happen to me when I gained the 25 pounds I wanted.  I gained the weight and my body's thermostat hasn't adjusted...  :icon_confused2:

That's a lot of vitamin D.... >--<''

I know what you mean about the warm rains, I used to live in Texas, around Austin ,and when it rained down there in the summer it was exquisit; something I miss now I live in the land of freeing rain and igloos. Oh, also when we got a peppering of snow and the schools closed down for the day.

Ugh, I know how you feel.  A couple days of clouds, and it seems like everyone's ready to kill each other or just give up and go back to bed.  I had a final today and was about ready to say "screw it."

Here's my contribution to your evening:

I did spend a week in Key West for two years in a row in February several years back.  That was nice.  I came into town that second time in a raging blizzard!  So much for tropical dreams, welcome back to the real world!

Good call Joelene.  I think that should be a national tradition.  After all, Key West is the perfect combo of beach, key lime pie, and attractive gay men in speedos.

I went down to Dallas on September 23-24, 2000 (I remember because I came home on my birthday), during that summer of record 100+ days.  Even at 95, that was the most miserable I'd ever known the outdoors to feel!  Probably double because I was dressed up for an outdoor wedding that day.  Not even Florida felt as humid as Dallas did.

And I hope you did well on your test! ;D  I felt so bad for my students this semester, because they were all stressed out and I had no classes.  Okay, I didn't feel too bad for them.

I don't know how anyone survives humidity like that.

Thanks Zoe, it went well.  Soon I'll get to join you in enjoying rubbing being done in people's faces.  ::)

ANY men in speedos to me is still ICK!  Dallas and Austin?  Austin is nice compared to Dallas.  I have a sister near the Houston Bayou and a niece near Austin.  Houston?  Now that's bad, really bad!  Houstonians go to Dallas to dry off and Austin or Galveston to cool off!
Del Sol is the best method of getting your vitamin D according to a latest study.  Some older women have problems metabolizing the oral type, my sister included.  However, the addition of vitamin D to milk did stop the winter rickets (bowleggedness from softening bone) in children.  In the old Soviet Union, the kids in winter had to stand around in their underwear near a large mercury bulb with UV safety masks on for several minutes at a time during recess.

I believe that Homo Sapiens were designed to go about naked at all times.   Take a good look at the soles of your feet, see how thick the skin there is,we were designed by God, the Tao, Allah to walk barefoot.    I hope that someone asks how would we cope with the cold.
