I don't understand why anyone would want to be lanky, but how about a low calorie diet and exercise? You don't look like you could loose a drastic amount of weight and still be healthy.

its an old picture (shhhh!!!lol) but its my fav so i use it. i'm alittle heavier than i used to be. meds. but i love the thin look.i think its really sexy on boys, girls should be curvy (which i am).but anyway i'll try that.i've always been told you had to go to extremes....i want to have a more angular face and body.

become a vegetarian and run long distances a lot. runners have the leanest bodies. that's probably the healthiest route in my opinion.

You don't have to do anything. There's no right way to be trans. T will change your face and how your carry your body fat.

from a skinny person: it really doesn't help that much with passing. It helps in some places and hinders in others.
I'm skinny all over, so i don't really have hips or butts or thighs or boobs.....but i also have VERY skinny arms and even though i do lift weights that doesn't seem to change much. So when i'm in a t-shirt (and i do pass close to 100% when wearing long sleeves) people just stare at my arms....like it's some sort of abnormality....and sometimes even peg me as female because of my arms.....so i end up wearing long sleeves in summer.
And yes, T does redistribute your body fat and you might just become a lean guy without going on any kind of diet.

904 - Try doing a low carb diet combined with cardio. I am by NO MEANS an expert or even close to, but I did this for a short time as recommended to me by my doctor and lost like 7 pounds in a week and a half. Word of caution though....once you add carbs back in to your diet, you WILL gain the weight back. TRUST ME. If you add a little bit back in, you should be okay, but if you suddenly go back to eating a regular diet it will come right back. Low carb diets you can still eat a lot of stuff. I am not sure if you are vegetarian...it prob won't work for you then. It's not a particularly healthy diet, but it is much better than starving yourself imo. Almost all meat is 0 carbs or close to. A lot of veggies are very low. You can find a low carb high protein drink mix at walmart for like $15 for 2lbs that actually tastes pretty darn good mixed with just water. You can pretty much still eat whatever, but in reason. You will also want to try and keep your meals consisant throughout the day....like every 3-4 hours. By low carb, I mean keeping it like under 100-120 per day. So maybe like 15 breakfast, 15 snack, 30 lunch, 15 snack, 30 dinner, 15 snack. That actually doesn't seem right to me (my breakdown) but whatever. Also, if you don't use it you loose it. So if you eat a breakfast with 10 carbs instead of 15, you cannot tack the 5 on someplace else.

You may have to try different kinds of diets to see what works for your body. The best thing is diet and working out. Stay away from all those pill things and gimmicks if you can. Try and make small changes. If you drive, park your car a little further away from the entrance or try and walk places if you can. Take the stairs, etc.

If you have poor mental health, don't skimp the carbs, they're necessary for brain functioning and the production of serotonin, among other things

Really? I've been on a ketogenic diet (less than 20g of carbs a day) for over a month now and I've never felt better. It gives me crazy amounts of energy and my head is clear as a bell. I also lost a lot of stubborn weight that I'd been carrying for most of my life. I don't think I'll ever go back to a "normal" diet now that I've experienced the benefits of keto. My "poor mental health" is extreme depression and anxiety, so I don't know if you're talking about something more severe, but there's my two cents. I could talk more about this if anyone wants info.

EDIT: Oh yeah, I didn't have a lot of weight to lose in the first place, but keto does work for any and all body types. With heavier people they tend to see bigger losses at a much faster rate.

My depression gets noticeably worse when I increase carbs past a certain point. I have found that "skimping" on the carbs actually helps me. And now there is scientific literature linking higher-carb eating to depression.

This year, I admit, I've been under so much pressure that I'm eating whatever. And it definitely isn't doing me any favors.

Some people are vegetarians, some find success cutting back fats, and some get good results from controlling carbs. But health experts are finally admitting that dietary fat does not translate to body fat. And I've met some fat vegetarians. Could have been a genetic predisposition to pack on the pounds, or it could have been all the carbohydrates they ate. Or a combination. I suspect that some people's bodies are less tolerant of a vegetarian diet, some people's bodies work less well on a low-fat diet, and so on.

Bottom line? You have to figure out what works for your body.

Yeah I was going to reply back, I think it's for people who cut them out completely. If you cut them out completely, your brain stops producing essentials, and if you have too much, your brain over produces them. I didn't mean to say load up on carbs, but you need to have them in your diet.

I see. I know what you mean. I once knew a gal who decided that ALL dietary fat is bad and was telling everyone that she was actually allergic to fat and that her doctor had told her to cut all fat out of her diet. When I first met her, she weighed about eighty pounds and was not mentally stable. She looked terrible. Not sure what other factors were at work. I guess the point is that there's always someone who will take things to their illogical extreme.
