I've been okay with my body, I appreciated it's feminine features and anything I didn't like I figured I could change. But over like 8-9 months, I've noticed changes, they're subtle but they bother me. My lower jaw is wider on the edge, my hands are bigger, and my chest is turning into a v shape. :embarrassed: I'm not taking HRT for another year because of school and sperm banking, nor do I think I have much of a choice since I haven't even started therapy yet.

I'm curious about what effects being on HRT will have, will my chest slim down? Will my shoulders shrink even a little bit? Can I surgically trim them? Will hips widen? Not just fat redistribution but widen if I start at 18, I don't think puberty is done at that age. How much is it going to hurt me to wait another year? Can I sperm bank earlier?

Ugh, maybe this thread is pointless, I can guess what the answers are, but it was comforting to type it.

Unfortunately certain things can't be changed, sounds like you are getting or already are too old, bones will be the same, you are stuck with those however they've developed (but then again I don't keep up well with the medical world, so I really don't know what can or can't be done), but doesn't mean that you still can't look good on hormones. What happened to me when on them I got a nice layer of fat to soften me up, my skin got a lot smoother, silkier, much nicer feeling to the touch (also bruised much easier too, downside of it), grew breasts (not very big for me, but any is better than none), more fat redistributed towards my bottom end (nice curvy hips and rounder butt, as well as thick thighs, probably the area that I was happiest about). There's a lot of women on here that started late on hormones, and they look pretty fine (I'm one of them, trying not to show conceitedness here, but I pass, get compliments once in a while even though been off of them for a couple years, so that's something), I'm sure you'll be okay even with things that can't be changed.

I'm not sure how much fat redistribution will affect me. :-\ I'm terribly skinny.

well, your bones are basically done growing by 18 years old. that is mostly the benchmark for male and female skeletal growth. are you sure this is really true, or do you think your gender dysphoria, and hyperawareness of your body could be contributing to it? i don't doubt that you could've had bone development since you aren't 18 yet, but your jaw can be changed in FFS if you really need to. your shoulders and hands can get smaller from the loss of muscle/cartilage on hrt. the bone sturcture won't change, but the redistibution of fat should be powerful enough to feminize your body. after 18, puberty for males mostly continues with just increased thickness in facial/body hair, and maybe increased muscle strength. that's about it i'm pretty sure, but if you are becoming very uncomfortable, i would suggest you get on hrt sooner than what you had planned. it can be viscous of the toll this takes on you mentally. if in fact, your shoulders are wide, and you're insecure about that. you can do what most women do, and dress to flatter your figure. try tops with a plunged neckline. btw, estrogen tends to thicken fat tissue, and lose muscle tissue. you just have to wait and see what happens.

Well, we're just going to have to do something about fattening you up. Someone feed this girl, she's terribly skinny and could use to have some much needed phat! I think you'll be okay, I had a slim muscled figured before I started on them, several years into it, didn't even look like the same body except I had the same quirks (basically, looked like a woman body but with a penis).

that is a cisgendered female, and she definately has the type of figure you're explaining. she's done quite well for herself.

If you ask me, you should start HRT as soon as you are allowed to (and are mentally ready to) and seek therapy and tell doctors as soon as possible in that goal, as there are small puberty-like changes that do occur from 18 to maybe 22-23, and you might be able to escape some of them. Plus, there is an unproved but more or less commonly reported chance that some puberty-induced male characteristics that should be permanent will recede, and these - probably low - chances lower as the start of your puberty gets farther behind. Plus, it is proved though that the younger you start, the better the results are.

As for sperm banking... I do not know much about it, but if your country is like mine, by 14 years of age, you - should - be allowed to decide for yourself in medical terms (though this does not apply to HRT and related surgeries), and I believe, if you explain your situation and feelings well, you should, somehow, be allowed to do such a thing.
