OK so another horrible day... So i do notice my supervisors not looking my general direction. My team leader doesn't address me. One of the supervisors stares at me constantly. All of them refer to me as "he". After i got off i was really upset it seems most days I'm getting more and more upset. I talked to another supervisor and another CSR, the sup said we have alot of rules and one we have to call you "he" and by your legal name which i can understand the name thing. All though they didn't start that till the other trans girl started and was going by her girl name. Also i can't use the men's bathroom and cannot use the women's bathroom. The girl i was talking to was like oh, well you are male because of what you have... I said because I'm a logical person, well gender isn't really defined by what you have but by your feelings and emotions and how you identify. I am not really sure what to do, changing jobs might be an option and just get hired as the girl i am. Which ill be applying at another call center soon. Just right now i do need this job and i feel that if I am treated with respect i feel my productivity will go up. I do really well on my calls and i really don't get any compliments. Any advice is welcome I am just at my wits end. Thx

I don't know what to say about the other things, but that pings pretty strongly as an discrimination of some kind to say you can't use EITHER bathroom.  I think if you somehow had proof of their actions you might have a legal case about it...Well, most of all, are you still with a therapist?  He/she might have a pretty good idea about what you can do about this, because I think it does count as a discrimination to enforce your original provided name&gender alone...
I dunno.  I really feel you should take the initiative, because it's not really that great of work security for them to suddenly treat you badly like this... :S
Another thing, I'm pretty surprised the girl is saying that Oo; I would've figured any transgender would not say such a thing as 'male because of what you have'...it's kind of the line of thought we fight against just to realize what we want, right...? o.o;

Im currently in a similar predicament. Im working in a call center here, and it seems as though the company has a pretty good system in effect for people in transition, but, I honestly think its based on a location thing. Every call I take, I get ma'am'ed, and all of my co-workers know about me, as well as my team leaders, but, I've not officially decided to transition on the job yet. I honestly only took the job to save money to move at this point.
And, I don't see how you can be told that you cant use either restroom? Do they not have individual rest rooms for handicapped agents? I've started using these as I feel uncomfortable other wise :P. I hope that things get better for you!

If you are begin your RLE ( fulltime) then go straight to HR and file a complaint.  I am not sure who you work for, but some big companies have diversity policies.

the other girl like me didn't say that it was a girl that was just there when i was talking to the supervisor. I am going to talk to Human Resources in the other building. I am just trying to find the laws for discrimination in the work place. I saw gender identity on one of them i just don't know if there is one for Texas... I wish i could make them understand that them referring to me as someone I'm not really is like getting stabbed in the chest to me. I literally ran to the bathroom in tears because I can barely handle stuff like this. I know its to be expected, but it is a work place and people should be professional. Not point and laugh and stare and talk about me. It's funny there is a sign that says "No Bully Zone". I think its all lies. All of the supervisors don't know what they are doing. They do have a unisex bathroom too but it is always occupied.

Quotethe sup said we have alot of rules and one we have to call you ... by your legal name
Honestly? They don't have anyone working legally name Katie called Kate, Elizabeth called Liz, Cassandra called Cassie, Rosemary called Rosy, Adam called Andy, Steven called Steve....?

QuoteAlso i can't use the men's bathroom and cannot use the women's bathroom
They can't have it both ways. Either they treat you as male and hence you can (if you choose) use the men's, or they treat you as female and hence you can (if you choose) use the female's.

QuoteDo they not have individual rest rooms for handicapped agents
We're not disabled / handicapped, we shouldn't be forced to use the disabled.

yeah good points^^^

Also if someone can't see what is in your pants then what does it matter? And how does it effect pronouns? You're no doubt addressed as she etc to those that don't know so just because they know what is in your pants shouldn't make any difference.
If they wanna play it like that then they should ask EVERYONE what is in their pants before addressing them.
perhaps just stick it out while looking for another job. :/
