Try this synopsis on for size: an idyllic portrait of formerly pro-Soviet sailors at the Kronstadt naval garrison who in 1921 rebelled against the failures of the new Bolshevik state. Oh, and said based-on-historical-events revisioning features a film first—a cast of more than 100 transgender actors.

Not exactly a pitch for the latest mindless Kate Hudson rom-com, eh?
