I have the fear of needles and spiders.

I have two.

1.  Spiders.  I can't get within 10 feet of one without flipping out and hyperventilating.  Just thinking about them gives me the willies.

2.  Drowning in an enclosed space.  I don't fear drowning at any other time, but if I'm over water in a car or in an airplane, I get really nervous and start thinking horrible thoughts related to falling into the water.

I get the same way if I'm in a car thats crossing a bridge over water.  I have thoughts of the bridge falling or the car messing up and steering into the water.  I had a dream that happened.

Same.  It was one of the scariest dreams ever.  I just can't shake this fear even though it's relatively irrational.

Pod people. Torture. Paralysis. Losing my freedom. And that dead lady from the Shining who came out of the bathroom. Eww.

The clown from 'It' ( I swear I see that thing in my closet at night) and attics. I am seriously terrified of attics.

And shoji screen closets. My new bedroom is going to have one of those and they freak me out.

We're strange animals. I love attics. I broke my foot putting insulation in one once and that sucked, but for the most part they seem to me safe and cozy and good.

My number one, I think, is low ceilings and high bunk beds and the like. I've got claustrophobia of the head. I can't even lie down with my head touching a wall. Being in small cars can give me panic attacks.

Other than that, I'm afraid of crossing bridges (especially in cars), falling (but not heights ::) ), numbness and loss of sensation, and I've got a good bit of social anxiety. I'm sure I'll think of more and come back to this thread. :P

Now there is a knowing: "Your very worst fears will come true..."

There are obvious reasons for that, because we constantly are busy with this stuff, thinking about it, trying to run away from it, etc.

So what are my fears? ...
(BTW if you verbalize it often enough it also becomes more real, every time you go over the stuff.)

I'd have to think hard of some 'benign' fear to bring up, to mention --- the less benign one?
Winding up as a bag-woman, and not exactly enjoying this new found 'freedom'...

I'm a little claustrophobic  but I am terrified of gas masks. Weird I know but they're horrible!

Yeah which is all the more reason I wish to have support around me so they can do my shot or I will just pay the doctor to do it or at the very least just take it in gel form.  I'm more afraid of blood drawn though.

I'm not necessarily afraid of needles, but when I had my surgery the nurse who was taking blood came in at the same time as the nurse who was putting in my IV. With people poking around in both my arms, I just about started crying.

I can imagine. I've never been near one IRL, but having something plastic gripping on to my face sounds like a terrifying ordeal.

Abbott makes androgel and has patient assistance programs. That's how I always got medication when I didn't have health insurance. Never tried it with T though.

Deep water... If I can't see the bottom, I am not going in it. I also have this paralyzing fear that I'll wake up someday and my son won't. I guess its because when I was a kid I saw a documentary on SIDS, and the thought that my baby could just up and die on his own scares me to tears some nights. I get up and check on him at least once a night, just in case.

Spiders generally don't bug me. If I move something and poof there's a spider there, then yeah, I'll eep, but if it's just chillin on a wall 'honey badger don't care' :P
What the hell was that?!                 From every wound there is a scar,
Spaceball 1.                                     and every scar tells a story.
*gasp* They've gone to plaid!        A story that says,
                                                        "I survived."

Couldn't you keep the baby in your bed? That way you'd always know. Mine had severe sleep apnea, and after a day or two the doctor's office told me to just try keeping her with me, and it made a world of difference.

I'm terrified of sharks, I don't even dip my toes in at the beach :( I watched jaws when I was three while being baby sat, my fear of sharks also prevents me from swimming in pools or being in spas at night - even if it's well lit :( and even though sharks don't use spas or pools

And hopefully I don't offend anyone, but I'm scared of amputees, I'm terrified of becoming one, and I'm scared of projectiles, so things that could flick up in my face, I don't go near, and I don't use lawn mowers or power tools :/

I have this weird thing where I can't sleep on my back with my head to the side incase someone comes into my room and deliberately kneels on it (my head) or accidentally sits on it - causing my neck to snap.

Oh the shame  :'(
