"I still remember the day when I sat in my sons bedroom and told him that his 9-year-old friend Samuel was no longer a boy, but was now a girl named Sophia. My son C.J., didn't say much at first."

I wonder if this is just the first in a wave of "post-liberation" articles about life in a world where being trans is not considered strange.

Well, it wouldn't be all that strange to CJ, since he's already gender non-conforming and has been debating with himself as to whether he thinks of himself as trans for quite a while.  His mother has been blogging about him on raisingmyrainbow.com for something like 3 years.

BTW, she wrote about this before, on her blog: When Your Child's Boy Friend Becomes Their Girl Friend (http://raisingmyrainbow.com/2015/01/27/when-your-childs-boy-friend-becomes-their-girl-friend/)
