Hi everyone,

My name is Edelia and I'm a trans woman just beginning my social transition. I just joined, on a recommendation.

I won't share too many details about myself for now, but I wanted to say hello and mention that this space seems reassuring: seeing people with such different paths, not only those who started younger.

I like to socialize on the golf course.

I just started going to the beach where I can wear my more revealing outfits in an appropriate setting.

Thank you, that really helps. It's nice to know I'm not the only one who started this journey at this stage of life, most spaces I've seen feel geared toward younger people.

I'm over 60 and came out to myself and my wife earlier this year. Age is just a number, it is behaviour and perception that matters.

We are definitely an older crowd on here I would say, I'm 50 but there are girls on here from all ages, most of us have been around the block a bit!

That takes real courage, at any age, but especially after so many years together.

I came out to my ex-wife 15 years ago, so I know a bit about how that feels. It's not easy, but you're right: age really is just a number. What matters is living authentically, however and whenever you can.

Proud of you for taking that step. Better late than never, and honestly, "late" is just a social construct 😉

I get it. I'm 55 and I'm still making mistakes, putting my future on the line. Can't stop.

I see that other members of Susan's have also welcomed you as well.

The recommendation you mentioned in your first post was absolutely correct.  It was an extremely valuable one at that.  Susan's is a place where one can navigate the complexities of transition safely if that is your desire.  It is never too late to begin your journey, like my friend Victoria who just recently had surgery and I was there to support them.

For me as you allude to, I was vary young when I changed my life around and it was one of the best things in my life that I ever did and I have had peace for a very long time.

Yes, only reveal what you want no matter what it is.  This is a place of learning and teaching and if you tell your story others will be able to learn from it and of course you will have a lot reading to do as well.

Once you feel comfortable here, it would be appreciated if you add a little bit more about yourself in the other forums and threads.  I would appreciate it very much as, I'm always interested in learning something new about new members.

In addition members of Susan's will more than likely discuss problems or issues that are similar to yours as most have experienced these issues as well.

Please keep in mind when posting that this is an ALL AGES PUBLIC Forum and the internet never forgets.  Do not post anything that you do not want to be made public.
