We have a handful of cats, but the dogs keep chasing them off so I'm not sure how many actually come back.
And we have two dogs, a pit named Sarah and a lab mix named Bear.

Yep.  She's a goose.   :laugh:
She's about 2 months old and what one would refer to as a "lap goose".  She snuggles with anyone, even strangers.  She also wanders around the house and sleeps in corners.

Insane, yes - but we love her.

We live in the country three miles from the nearest shop, the house being some 200 yards off the road. Enclosed is a pic. of Benjamin, our latest non-nuclear deterrent, who would first greet intruders. 
He's a 20 month old semi-longhaired German Shepherd,  all seven stone of him.   Truth is, he's as soppy as hell and only wants his tummy rubbed and to lick our face off !

My most loved pet is my cat Elwynn. The first picture is him in his youth. And the second, well... life has taken its toll.

Mist wasn't supposed to be an only chicken, but the feral hen that lives near my house had eggs that didn't hatch so she was doted upon as a single "child".  She believes she is a person just like a parrot can imprint on their owner.

I put up pix of Pyewacket when I first got her, but I don't think I put up pictures of my other cat, Gremlin.  Here's a recent picture of them together.

These are two of my fuzzy kids. The fluffball is Tessa and the wussy curious one is my ever so lovable Siggy. I recently adopted a stray cat that had been following me home for the past couple of weeks or so, but I haven't gotten any pics of her yet I named her Kiara after the lion in Lion King II. She's a orange tabby with golden eyes and is actually my first cat.

I have no idea why Tessa's eyes are so watery I think she's been having allergies problems she's been sneezing more often then usual recently as well.

Oh my God, Ruben!  She looks just like my little boy, at least before he put on mega poundage.  Shiba Inus are awesome, especially how their tails curl up like little cinnamon buns.

This is Goo-roo. Her "official" name is Tenshi, but nobody ever calls her that (a former significant other accidentally stole her name a number of years ago-- don't ask). We just refer to her using variations of "Goo" (Goo-roo, Goo-butt, Gooey, etc.).

That's actually kind of an outdated picture of her. She's starting to get oooold, and (as ferrets are wont to do) accquiring some bald patches. Specifically, she has male pattern baldness. Human male pattern baldness. Big bald patch right on top of her head. It's kind of hilarious. (Though it makes me sad that she's getting to be an old lady ferret. I don't want her to go, but she's definitely slowing down. =< )

@Crow: Awesome! A ferret! I knew someone with about 12 ferrets who would take them to shows; LOVED taking them for walks xD Theyre awesome, and your little fluff is quite pretty. :D I think she still would be, even with the baldness. :)

This is our cat Misty Monroe, she is only about half a year old in this picture but she only about doubled in size, much smaller even full grown than the average house cat. She believes Daddy makes the perfect perch/bed.

Thanks Meepit :) Yeah, I was thinking lab though she has really long back legs and shorter front so someone said maybe greyhound. I think maybe I'll do DNA testing when I can afford it. Truthfully it doesn't make a difference to me, would just be cool to know.

Peaches is a cutie and so is Maximus I love pet rats and I had one for three years until he passed. I wish I could have another I just can't handle their short life spans :( 

Man, yeah. I love rats. I've had two others, and Maximus was my first and has lived the longest. He's helped me through more than any human, haha.
I want more rats, but I agree, their short lifespan is terrible. :\

KamAus, your dogs are so cute!

I had a dog that was part border collie and part flat-coated retriever.  She had the hair of a border collie, but the coloring of the retriever minus a white spot on her chest.  She was the most loveable dog I've met and I would love to get a border collie.

Border Collie's are great. I'd wanted one for ages and people kept trying to tell me that they don't make good pets. I didn't believe that at all and when the time came when I could get one, I did. I'm glad because Chance is a great dog and he is a good pet. All he wants is to be part of the family and get involved with everything we do. He's not even destructive, just a happy go lucky dog. He tries to be a lap dog as well which is cute. BC's are my favorite breed of dog and I can't imagine being without one now. He's such a goofball as well, always making us laugh.

o.O  Whoever told you they don't make great pets wasn't very bright.  Border Collie's make great pets if exercised and played with.  I can't want to get another one, they're so much fun!  Freeway also liked to be a part of everything and she thought she was a lap dog. XD  She was 50 lbs and insisted that your lap was her bed.  She also thought she was small because she was raised with a small dog so she would often climb under furniture that she couldn't really fit under. XD

When Chance was a pup he went under furniture alot and one time got stuck tight. I had to get him out but since then he wont go under any type of furniture. It's funny, if one of the tennis balls goes under something, he will refuse to try and get it and nudge me until I get it. I think it scared him :P

Aww the crabs are cute man. In that last pic they look like they're dancing around the quarter.

Well, had to get rid of my pup that I posted a while back but I wanted to post a pic of my crazy cat. Her name is Anya. When my mom and I got her from an ad on a classifieds site she was emaciated, covered in hundreds of fleas, and had a respiratory infection so bad the vet said she wouldn't have made it another week. We took her to the vet and this is her last week, about a year later healthy and lazy :) best cat ever!

XD Freeway would have loved to be cuddled--she was such a cuddlebug despite weighing 50 lbs.  Harley Quinn only cuddles when she's tired--she's so hyper. @.@  Gumdrop loves to cuddle, though.   I'm sure he'd love it if you held him.

I understand the feeling...I just can't be alone, it's a sure way to make me become suicidal.   I live with the threat that one serious flare-up of my medical condition could potentially kill me or it could make me where I am unable to do anything by myself, so living with something that may die earlier than me isn't a big thing to me.

@ Michael:  Thank you! :D  And it's OK, but thank you for your condolences.  We knew she was going to have to be put down due to her severe arthritis and her heart problem at some point so I was able to grieve a little bit before we had to take her in...though I still really really miss her.

I just had to have my one cat put down yesterday who looked just like her. I've never seen another Tortoise Calico that resembled her so much... She was 15, a diabetic, and her kidneys were giving out.  :'(

It's sad that people will avoid adopting an animal just because it is disabled. My cat Felicity was in the Humane Society for almost nine months before we adopted her. I agree about the disabled thing. People are so picky even about looks. My mom has 2 dachshund brothers one of them she got for way less than the other because he was 4 months old and the breeder was afraid he wouldn't be socialized correctly if he stuck around any longer. No one had wanted him because he's a little longer and thinner than the average dachshund  ::) and he is a little fearful of new people. Their loss because he is a great little boy.

Everyone's pets here are so freakin' adorable it almost hurts to look. Awesome animals, guys.

Proving that his love (and need) for doggies is endless, my dad decided to buy a puppy about a month ago. She's about 6 months old, she was abandoned at the shelter with the rest of her litter, Shepherd/Rottie/Lab mix and she's a pain in the ass. But she's adorable.

My dog, Snickers:

My mom named her after the candy bar. I usually call her Boo-Boos. She answers to both. She's very energetic, loves playing ball in the house as well as a towel snatching game that she made up. We take her for walks as often as we can, she prefers us both to go though, and since we don't have a fenced in yard she can't be left outside alone because there's a lot of dogs that roam free around here (they're all owned of coarse, irresponsible owners) and she's already been attacked twice and that was in my presence, plus don't want her getting knocked up, taken, or hit by cars (she knows that people come out of cars so I always have to pull her back because she sometimes tries to go up to and greet moving vehicles) either. She loves meeting new people, sometimes gets so excited that she can't control her bladder. But she does well in keeping trespassers away, has a very loud, big dog bark and don't like anything or anyone that she don't already know getting near the house. I know also that she is a very loyal companion and would do what she can to protect me, already tested that out on a few things that she absolutely fears and each time when I cried out for help she took to aiding me when normally she'd run away from the objects I used. She's a mix breed, supposedly border collie and springer spaniel, but still I dunno, looks like it from pics I've seen of each of those type of dogs, still doesn't matter to me what she is, though I do like her looks, small but classic dog features. We actually got her when she was way too young, at just 3 weeks old (we didn't know at the time), my nephew's father got her for us from someone in the neighborhood, so she, even though a year old now, still acts much like she's a baby, very dependent and gets upset anytime either my mom or I, though more particularly my mom, leaves the house, my mom is pretty much her mom also, but I'm the fun one, her playpal. Oh, and she is very much spoiled, she knows how to get what she wants, including back scratches.

I love my cats!  :laugh: But yeah, there was a huge feral problem in the complex when I moved in, and we have a royal b*tch of a landlord here who hates animals, so I got most of the feral cats off the streets, and had to give away about 20 cats to strangers who came for the free cats. :/ But of course, several of the cats stayed with me.  ;)

Our Kitty cats are like our children.
Muffin is our oldest and he is the sweetest child we have ever had. He has never met a stranger or anyone he doesn't like.
We rescued him from an animal shelter and he sleeps with his arms around his daddy every night! (wish I could post pics of this to show you)
Then we have Mimi, a siamese girly-girl who thinks she's the princess of the house! And Franky, a spunky orange maine coon male! He's a hunter and he loves to bring home all kinds of presents, like live birds and live snakes! They too were rescued from different animal shelters.
I also feed the other stray cats in my neighborhood. I know I'm not supposed to, but I can't help it! Specially when the mommy cats bring their babies to eat at our house.
I thought I was becoming a cat-lady... But I think I'm already there! LOL

Sherbert is adorable. Well they all are. NB has posted our two monsters - But my mother also has a number of cats. All are rescue cats, and the last three have all just appeared on the doorstep and decided to make themselves at home. The latest one, a black male, who we don't have a picture of yet. Dundee - was four legged when he first arrived, now only has three *Lost a back leg we think being struck by a car - and his tale of survival took us and our vets by complete surprise* Here, he is one a horse drawn carriage - my parents used to teach people to carriage drive until my fathers Parkinsons forced them to stop - and some sheeps wool! I'm not too sure.  Her tail kind of thinned out and a few days ago she either threw up or expelled some sort of liquid waste and it smelled horrible and I noticed everytime she eats she hisses and growls for no reason.  Today she had some sort of moist looking sore or cut under her chin.  I hope she isn't going crazy.  She still seems responsive to my calls and what not but she doesn't want cat food anymore, just the juice of the cat food and whatnot.  It's weird.

Will do, shes starting to get up there in age but I've seen her in worse shape so hopefully she will get better.

The bottom of her chin had a sore on it so my mother rubbed some medicine on it and it looked like it helped a little.  She was eating a bit better the other day.  I guess we just got to keep rubbing it on her.

She's so cute! I have two pugs myself. A 9 year old girl and a 13 year old boy that we adopted when he was 10. He's sleeping next to me on the couch right now, snoring to the point where I just had to turn the tv up to hear it.

in a totally manly fashion.  yeah. 

love snakes.  had a couple myself.  owned a boa for a while until my ex refused to return her after i left.  was pretty gutted, i got her for my 18th birthday as a present to myself, she was awesome.  same guy owned a fully grown burmese python, three other boas and a pair of hog nosed vipers, and decided he owned her as well.  and last year i got a corn snake for my kid's birthday, but came to turn down the thermostat one night and he'd somehow disappeared from the tank.  no idea how he got out, there were no holes, the lid was secure, he just was in there one moment and not the next.  i was more upset than the kid.  only funny thing about it was that it was on that rapture day that never occured.  so now i joke that camping was right, he was just a little off on the species.

My rats are my babies. Of course most of my family are pretty grossed out by them, but they're actually very affectionate and playful pets.

I got her when she was just a tiny baby, and she's still pretty small. She's very energetic and loves running around and jumping on things. Hard to keep up with her sometimes.

Thank you, for, the nice compliments, on my cats. I am mildly allergic, to my cats, as well. I am guessing, you, have more severe allergies? Also, hybrid cats, SOMETIMES lack the FDL1 protein, that, many people are allergic to. However, you might be "allergic", to a hybrid cats, behavior  :D.

All I have to say for all these cute pet pics, is: Awwwwww! I love animals & wouldn't mind being an animal police officer  :police: to help neglected animals, like the one's played on the Discovery Channel. I live in Minnesota, so I don't think there is any Animal police in Minnesota.

When I was young, we had two canaries.  A male and a female.  The male was the better singer of the two, but was prone to seizures, and became rather silent.  The vet suggested we put a little bourbon whiskey in the water.

That's really sad that he had seizures.  :'( That's weird. I never heard about alcohol helping Canaries with seizures. But that's good that it helped him.  :)

Thanks paula otto! :) Peach Face lovebirds are cute little clowns. Before Koo-Kee (mother) past away, she had a total of about 20-25 clutches of babies, 4-7 babies per clutch. I sold or gave away the babies to family, friends, relatives, & other people. I noticed that most owners couldn't dedicate the time to actually keep the birds for all the birds life. So, they would send it to animal shelters or wherever. Sometimes I would try to get most of the birds back, so I could take care of them & give them to someone willing to dedicate their time & love for them. It got to the point where Koo-Kee would constantly have babies after babies. I would break the eggs before the embryo developed & heart started beating. Sometimes I broke the eggs when I could see the heart beating. I felt really terrible & sad  :'( for doing that, so I would let the one's with the heart beating hatch & take care of them. That's how my lovebird, Young Boogies (Smuffy's son) was born.

Thanks paula otto! Yes, that was the main reason why I would break the eggs. I just didn't want the birds growing up in a bad home, no home, struggling, no love, abuse, & other bad things... I have thousands of pictures of my Peachface lovebirds, & also past pictures of my colorful Panther Chameleons. I'll have to search for the good ones & post it here. Yay!  :laugh:

She is around 5 according to the Société protectrice des animaux de Québec where i adopted her. She was abandoned and they had to do a dental exam to know her age. She was probably eating alot of cheep food before. That, is a very interesting food :). I have not seen it in the USA. What country are you in? If, you do not mind me asking.

I can say this, feeding, wet/canned food can make it easier for a cat to loose weight. But, not all cats will eat it.

I am not sure what to say about, living with a person, and having a pet, that person is allergic to. Sorry, I am no help, with that issue  ???.

Thank you!  She is approximately eight years of age.  She was actually hit by a car and left on the side of the road.  My ex (her previous owner) took her to a nearby vet, who was able to doctor her back to health.  She is long-legged, slightly bigger than a typical house cat.  Sweetest kitty tho!

She is somewhat of a rescue  :)  I got her 7 years ago when she was very small from one of my relatives who had lost interest in her and she was not being properly cared for so I basically just took over her care and took her with me when I moved

Yes, you need to sign up with a picture hosting site  :)  Photo Bucket is a good one and fairly easy to use

Lastly, I would love to hear stories about him/her.  I.E., how destructive he/she is, what is his/her name, how does he/she get along with other animals in your home and people (both people he/she is familiar with and strangers).

He's become even more important to me and my fiancé (if that's even possible) since he's nearly lost his life TWICE in the last six months or so...
First, he was hit by a car (got away from that with mere bruises and a chipped tooth) and now couple months ago he was most likely attacked by a human.
Thus, he's never going outdoors without a leash anymore, no matter how much it annoys him. He's currently out in a leash and meowing because it's so awful. :'D Drama king.

These are our two dogs, Earl & Sassy.. Both are rescued dogs.. Earl was found in a dumpster in Texas half starved, was brought to this area by a lady cop I know, and us friends were trading off keeping him a few days at a time, hoping to find him a forever home.. But the first night we kept him, we knew he was our baby, and has become one of the family... He's like a big black floppy eared teddy bear, with a bark like Kujo from the steven King movie.. haha.. Sassy is Earls newer baby sister, even though they're the same age.. Sassy is Diabetic, and I have to give her a shot of insulin twice every day, but she takes her pokes like a trooper and seldom makes a sound.. I always Dye Sassy's tail purple, it's her fashion statement, that goes with her pink pearl neckless.. :) :)

My little tank, a black pug died a little over a year ago (August 20,2013) I cried for two weeks straight, he was my buddy and my only friend, my wife who was also heartbroken, went to a pug rescue and brought home two little puggies, Bruce was locked in a cage 23 hours a day and only let out in the AM and PM to relive himself, Bruce is a brindle color. She also brought home Cinder, a black female pug, all we know about her is that she was abused. Both have taken to me like they have known me all their lives, they sleep one on either side of me at night, and both have to be on my lap or touching me anytime I am home. They are my fur babies, I think I would be lost without them. Sorry I don't know how to post photos

This is my little Matilda. We found her abandoned at ~5 months old last December right before a blizzard hit the area. She was only 3 lb. at the time. Now she's over a year, ~7 lb. and never has to worry about going hungry again.

my dog, Kimiko, is a purebred Shiba Inu from Minnesota. She turned 7 back in September. Considering she hasn't tried to eat Morgana yet, I think I don't have to worry about it anymore.

It took me about three years to convince my parents to let me get a Chihuahua, they both hated them plus they just didn't want a dog in the house. It wasn't until my counselor informed my parents that a companion animal would actually greatly help with my depression and anxiety that they actually let it happen.

They're brothers born in late March (as I've understood). My friend breeds rats and he always makes sure his rats can be handled and are not afraid of humans. The boys are very tame and have already started to enjoy spending time outside their cage after only two outings. :)

Awwwwwwwwwwwww!  I LOVE Ferrets!  I use to have two of my own years ago :3  I had Renji and Zoey and both were such playfully, devious and loving scamps! :3  The best part of Ferrets...everything amuses and piques their interest :3.  Zoey was absolutely in love with my closet and loved hiding there, Renji loved running in circles along the edges of my room xD!  I def want to get Ferrets again sometime down the road :3

I miss my poor Strider so much.  He was adopted from a Malamute rescue organization and spent the past four years of his life with my Dad and me.  He was getting old as it was, and on Memorial Day weekend he tripped over something and his hips went out.  He never recovered and we had to put him down shortly afterward.  :'(

  I have sadly also, gone through having to put down our beloved and best friend petey 6 years ago. But shortly after, we were approached about taking a rescue dog. We didn't have to think long, and now we have a new best friend in our lives :)

Someday I will definitely rescue another animal or two.  In the past two weeks I've ended up finding about five lost dogs which I reunited with their owners.  I think the universe is trying to give me a sign because these dogs just keep showing up on my doorstep or at my office.

Either that or I must smell like bacon...  :-\

Pour little guy was being abused by his owners. The wonderful people that brought him to us said they would drive by and see him tied up on the porch all day with no water, and they also witnessed their kids kicking him while tied up. So they finally couldn't take it any more and nocked on the door and offered them $50, and they did not hesitate to give up the little guy. Lucky us and lucky dog!
Near as we can tell, he is part boarder collie, part lab, and part pit bull. He is perfect!

His name is Into (means 'enthusiasm' pretty much) and he'll be joining our big boys Onni and Sulo after he adjusts to his new home and we properly introduce all three to each other.
He might look a little small but he's old enough (and big enough weight-wise as well) to go into a new home.

He looks extra poofy because he's a rex, meaning his fur is curly. His whiskers are curly as well. :D

Not sure of his coloring/marking, though. I think it's pretty obviously black and I'm thinking he might be a mismarked capped.

I'm usually not a fan of weiner dogs, but OMGGGGGG SHE'S SO CUTE!!!! She almost looks like  Beagle. ;w;'

She is unusual for a wiener dog. Most of them are black, brown or red. A white and fawn one is unusual. My dad got her for me because of her unusual color.  As far as dachshund dogs go she would pretty much be considered albino. Lol

Actually only the calico cat is mine (she is called Mimi). The siamese (called Bento) is from my neighboor, but he stays more time with me than with my neighboor... so I consider him mine. =^^=

Both were my salvation!

They helped me fight depression and loneliness. I love them very much and I feel I coudn't live without them!

I don't know how long I'll be able to keep them :(. I'm moving to Sydney and I have no guarantees on where I'll live when I go down. I could try to find someone to look after them for me, but with no idea on where I'll end up, it's a big ask. Could be a year before I get a permanent place. On the other hand, if I wait too long I could end up surrendering them, which would kill me. With that in mind, I'm not sure if I shouldn't start looking for good homes now, while I have the time.

They're so cute!!!! I'm surprised it's not the Tux who's a bundle of trouble....Every tux I've owned or been around is a little hell cat...but they're too precious and I can't help but want a house full of them.

I hope you get to keep your babies though. I went a couple of months without my dog and it was hard.

The gray one is my girl Kina, and the black one is my boy Kuuga (that's the Japanese spelling for Cougar - he's named after one of my favorite giant robots, Dancougar). They're brother & sister from the same litter.

He is actually really friendly and pretty much never gets in trouble. This one tends to visit me the most and he also likes sitting on peoples laps for long periods of time or basically even.....forever 0.0

The grey one on the right is Earl. She's very soft and attention seeking. She will force her head into my hands sometimes when I'm at the computer in order to pet her. She's always jumping up on my lap and shedding everywhere XD

But they are my babbies and me loves them so much ^^

And yes, if you caught that their names are indeed backwards gender wise. We didn't know when they were kittens and guessed wrong twice but kept it that way. Besides, "Earl Girl" sounds neat to say :p

Awww they are soo cute!  :) I love your cats! Tula reminds me of my 4th cat who is also black and white but I had no picture to share. Anyways, Tula and Earl are both lovely though  :)

I own a Pomeranian named Carl. Whenever I come home to this cuddly fella, I'm greeted with a happy lick on my feet and a friendly bark. I raised him since he was a pup. We usually play catch in our backyard during my days off (though we had to secure a wireless dog fence (http://www.petstreetmall.com/wireless-dog-fence.aspx), just so he wouldn't stray far from our yard, another way to keep him off our neighbor's yard too). Overall, he's a very loyal companion. :)
