I recently started spiro and estradiol the other week and I was wondering about the timeline different people experienced with breast growth and by how much?
If you could also note the average breast size for other women in your family too it would help give a better idea :)
The women in my family all have very full C's - DD's so I am hopeful! I'm in pretty great shape myself and already have 38A man boobs from the shape and dip of my chest despite not being overweight at all before I even started HRT
I know this is a common question but I was hoping for more specifics. The posts I searched through were mainly vague mentioning spurts and that growth leveled off after the first year. I'm trying to see a comparison of timelines between a smaller chested background and a fuller chested family background.
Thanks!
Generally the rule is one size under the women in our family. However that is rare. Most of the time we are luck to get to a large B, small C.
And it can take years to get there. If you have sisters, just look how long it took them.
Because of genetics, YMMV.
Mine have been growing steadily all through HRT. Currently I'm at a 34B. Initially they grew fast, within the first 5 months. I got to a full A cup in that time. Then they stopped for about 3 months but I think that was due to my levels being off (high T low E). After that, they've picked up again and it seems that I'm gaining volume every month. About 3 months ago (1 year mark of HRT), my A cup bras were squishing my boobs out the sides, but they weren't quite filling a B cup all the way. Now I am a full B and my breasts look pretty good in a tight shirt even without a bra. They don't seem like they're going to stop any time soon either, as they're still kinda sore when I push on them.
It's been steady... not too fast not too slow since I started HRT except when my levels were off. My avatar was taken when I was at the 11.5 month mark, btw... now they pretty much look a little bigger even without a bra on. I think I was wearing a B cup bra in that photo too.
I have started taking hormones on 28 March 2011, about first 6 months the growth was really fast from flat chest to A, but then no growth for a while and again few months ago i had another growth period which stopped again :)
I am small B now, hoping will get another spurt before i hit my 2 year hrt mark x
I am 38B after only one year on hormones. Bigger than my mother. :)
Well,
I have been on HRT, low dosage, for 3 months now and "something' is starting to show. People are starting to notice. My aerolae are getting bigger, my nipples are getting bigger, and there is like a hard ping pong sized lump, ball behind my nipples. It hurts most of the times, sometimes even when I go up the stairs a bit in a hurry, but the pain is not always the same: it goes up and down.
The first two months I noticed basically nothing, BTW.
I hope this helps.
Good luck,
Andrea
Awesome news, Andrea.
Congrats. Keep us posted. Hugs Shannon
After 2 years, a more shapely sub-B, Tanner 4. My female relatives are B's and C's. They said that I'm lucky to have this size and some women have smaller. That was flattering. However the latest meds for my aching feet has breast enlargement as a side effect and the nipples are sore again. Hope for a fuller B? Even though I am satisfied of what I already got. For a 60 year old, not bad!
Joelene
Mine has sucked. My first 3 months I had growth, everything got tender. Lump behind the aerolae. I was super excited. Then it just all stopped, tenderness disappeared no more hardness and they haven't changed since and my nipples have not changed one bit either, they do not look like female nipples. So at 1 year and 6 months HRT I'm still sitting at somewhere between an AA and A with male nipples.
Extremely disappointed in my breast development. I so don't want a breast job but this is unacceptable. >:(
It sounds as if growth is unpredictable. I'm still on a starting regimen of spiro and estradiol, and, after 3 1/2 months, I have pain, tenderness, and the same hard protuberance others have described--visible, but by no means conspicuous. I've had these developments since the second month. Other effects (softening of features and muscle atrophy) seem more advanced, but the glandular foundations for breast development may just take more time. I'm hopeful that either the natural course of hormones will continue the growth or my Dr. will up the dosage when I visit next week. Do increased dosages speed up growth or is that a common myth?

It takes GGs five years to grow their breasts. It will probably take you five years as well. As for dosages, after a certain level of hormones, all the oestrogen receptors are activated so adding more hormones has no effect as they have nothing to work on so they never get used. So your doctor may increase it depending on your blood tests but it will need the tests to tell.
Well I'm an example that the myth about -breast size being 1 cup smaller than family members- being just that, a myth. 1 year HRT and my boobs are already 2X the size of my older sister. She has always has very small breasts (AA?) and I'm larger than a 34A and not quite yet a full 34B and growing..
I started November 27, 2012 on the climara patch and I'm on day 4, I started getting the super light itching and sensivity on my nipples and warm fuzzy feeling on my chest area., this is very unusual, but then again, I was on hrt in my mid 20's (ie.25-26 years old) for a year on IM shots(ie. I"m 44 years old now), I got some pretty good feminization, a tanner 3, size 38 nearly b. On day tw, I felt very serene also and could taste the estrogen on my mouth. The doc took my blood tests and got baseline for my T E and other hormones. I'm a in between a tanner 2-3 at this time. Now I'm wondering, if my prior hormone use, I had dormant estrogenic development is being triggered and can it pick up close to where it left off?, hmmm. I feel like a guinea pig. Times during my mid 20's(ie.circa 1993-1994)were very different and alot more predijucial times. I'll see how this time comes around without stopping.
Lucia,
In 8 months i was a small C cup. I was on estridiol and spirno. I think i wa a large A before i started.
admin ninja edit: no dosages please
sorry i forgot
I am six weeks into hrt and have been experiencing very tender nipples and an ache for the last ten days. I was an AA before I started and am already seeing noticeable changes in my nipples and breast growth.
One month in, I have no breast growth but I definitely saw some changes to the nipples and the areola got very smooth. I have intermittent "feeling" that something's going on there...but they're not really tender or sensitive...I'm just aware of them now.
Subconscious change has been interesting. Although I don't feel any pain or tingling to the breast, the changes in the nipple/areola had me start raising my arm to protect my chest after about a week and a half. I wonder if this is a natural hormonal reflex that just comes with the territory?
Delia and Gats. I was the same way. Hugs Shannon
I hate all of you.
14 months of hormones and I am nearly completely flat chested, my A cup bra hovers above my chest. ; A;

Breasts are mostly fat.
Gain weight.
Just a gently reminder to all those wishing for breast growth. Twice daily breast massage with a good moisturiser can assist Mother Nature to better do her job
Mind you, doesn't work in all cases, however the majority will find it beneficial.
Be safe, well and happy

After almost 2 years, I'm still waiting to hit an A.. I had a burst of growth early on, but then nothing for quite a long time.. Both breasts have recently started getting tender again, which I'm hoping is a sign of growth..
Well I am 31 days into HRT on a low dose and I have in the last few days felt some tenderness of my nipples but not much else
Been on HRT for many years, not much more than an A happened during the first nine years. The second nine years have elapsed and I am wearing a B now and am suddenly experiencing more growth. So timelines created by observing pubescent cis females who start around 11 and are fully developed by 17 - 18 are not valid. Even cis females continue to have changes in breast size as they go from teens to menopause years, so it is safe to say that any timeline for trans women would be just another tool to create unwanted anxiety in those who have set unrealistic expectations for themselves.
I guess after reading this, I'm one of the lucky ones been on HRt a little over 3 months and already a solid A cup, however they still need to develop better. But I'm on a higher doseage of E and a average doseage of Spiro.
Hi
I would love to see any updates on this thread, ie hows it going since you posted?
a
almost going on 4 months, still nothing but puffy nipples that have changed color (got darker) and expanded a bit. Hoping that getting on shots will change that -_- though, on the plus side, I've lost so much mass and weight from working out that when I thought back then I would need C-cups to look proportionate to my chest/body size, i noticed this morning that C-cup might be too big for me, leaving me with a feeling of future satisfaction if i happen to be lucky enough for a B. Though, thats not to say that I'll be upset if they are bigger than that :P. To be honest though... I'd like at least an A cup for now -_- getting tired of wearing empty bras.
I do have this thing where when I lay on my side, my (what i'm going to call) pectoral muscles seem to drift downward, almost as if there was cleavage... but seeing as breast tissue and muscle tissue differ, I have my doubts that this has anything to do with my breast growth and is possibly just a result of wearing a bra maybe, idk.
Otherwise, i'm pretty flat chested... though when I wear the genie bra, despite the padding; it still kind of sticks out and makes it look like I have A cups.

Totally agree!! I'm 10 yrs on HRT, 8 yrs post-op.
I've been on HRT for a week and there are already definite changes: enlarging areola and nipple tenderness.
I'm not on high estradiol dosage (which can be dangerous) but I am taking two anti-androgens. Finasteride is, apparently, particularly effective in combination. Again, they're not big doses but in combo with estradiol it's apparently much more effective. However, as per guidelines here you need to consult your doctor.
p.s. the other thing to amaze me is that my skin is already so much softer. This isn't just imagination, but has really surprised me as happening so quickly.

I take the two T blockers as well, and yes, the skin softness is awesome isn't it? :D

34a/32b
9 months hrt :)
Interesting to see my old post, my cup size hasn't really changed but my breasts have matured a lot since that post, going on 2 years and 9 months of hrt. I think I'm a 32a now since I lost a lot of my muscle mass from my back. My 34a bras are a lot looser too but my 32b bras fit better since the band size is smaller and has the same cup volume as a 34a.
After hearing about so many experiences, I feel so lucky to have what I had gotten early on with the use of herbs. But, still, took up to 5 to 6 years to get them to a 40C (small cup). I am, however, curious on my future, if any, progress.
It's so good to read encouraging posts from others. Alexis, so true.
I must admit after getting up in the night thanks to the diuretic nature of the T blockers I was a bit fed up. Also, and this is embarrassing, but does anyone else get wind / gastric / flatulence with the T blockers? I'm pretty sure it's those rather than the Estradiol valerate.

:o Can't be estrogen, women don't fart! ???
No, I don't think it is spiro or estrogen, could be due to something with your diet? I haven't had this side effect.
2 weeks in, i went from AA to A cup. altho i'm already kinda chubby to begin with so it might just be more chub. i'm excited for the future tho.
Hi about 6 months in I am a full A cup and my breasts are just starting to develop to tanner stage 3 the Auriola is starting to raise and little stipples are forming at the edges .My nipples are constantly erect but still quite small

Hi all, having plucked up the courage post number two has arrived. I read with amazement Lucia's reply #13.
I too am 44 and on hrt for the second time. Funny thing is I also feel as if I have taken off from where I left off at an accelerated rate. Three months in and growth is clearly visible through a t-shirt. It seems though that all the growth is in the breast and not the nipples.
The other big difference in such a short space of time is the size of my butt!. Being slim and never having a butt I'm nearly bursting the seams of my jeans. ;D. Now that is a welcome change.
Go well with love.
Scarlett.

Hiya, I took a break for a few days and it settled. I think it could be finasteride. Back on again with a slightly lower dose and all is fine with areola continuing to grow :)

I remeasured myself again and I'm definitely a 32 or 30 in band size. Now I just need to figure out if a 32a fits better than a 32b or if a 30c fits well too. I highly doubt I'll be able to find a 30c in a store but that's what online shopping is for :)
Breast massaging with a lotion that has a soy base can help with growth In Some cases. Breast development is very must each persons own unique experience... so there is no set developmental time line or any specific routine that will work for everyone. But... patience is always a good component to bring to the process... for it has been proven that Stress has Never helped in the development process.
With all the talk about having one cup size smaller than one's mother and sister and with me keeping up to where they were, am feeling quite lucky at a small C cup. They were C cup, too. However, that may be due to using the Noogleberry pump system, which I had done quite often and now taking a break for a while. To make them perky, I use a bust serum lotion on them fairly often. It won't enlarge them, but really works on perking them up, less sag. I will be amazed if I get much larger, but it did take 5 to 6 years to get where I am at now.
Oh, a further note to this. I am going to turn 65 soon, so there is hope for people who are worried that it could be too late on starting late in life.
start of my 4th month HRT, A cup. Unlike others are reporting, nipples have hardly grown though.
I've been on E for 2 months, and an anti-androgen (first Spiro, then Androcur) since August. On Christmas morning I noticed that my nipples were very sore. When I looked, it was obvious that they were starting to get bigger. What a great Christmas present! And I'm on really low doses, so it seems that the 2-month benchmark for the beginning of breast development is accurate.
6 months and I'm pretty solidly / fully A. I'm hoping to get a B at least.
My sister and mom say they are B cups, but I doubt it, they look to be Cs. My mom even wears C bras from time to time. I would say at worst they are high Bs.
Hi everyone,
Well it's the end of my first month on hormones. Have to say that I'm astonished at the transition taking place so quickly. I guess my siblings have big breasts so maybe that's a help. I don't know if we're allowed to post pics but I could do as I am keeping a transition diary. I'm not really expecting fast transition: I'm thinking six months to have breasts looking like women's breasts, but at this rate maybe it will come sooner.
Anyway, I really just want to encourage everyone reading this. I know everyone's bound to be impatient but the speed of it doesn't matter. Even if yours are changing slowly, keep going because the changes are taking place and there will come a moment when, if you haven't yet, you do think 'oh wow.' Happy New Year, Happy Transition :) xx

Correct to both. Moderators may have responded to your first post by now with a welcome and good info for the site, to include answers to this question.
Believe me, good info in there.

All the women in my family are Large C, D or Double D (including some of the men lol)
I've been on estradiol for 1 year and spiro for 10 months and a moth ago I was an Average B cup and I've lost nearly 10 kg of body fat.
It's difficult to gauge but I'm hoping to reach tanner 4 by this time next year. I'm hoping my Doctor will also grant me progesterone

Yes, that "rule" of being one size under the women in your family story seems to be an old wives tale of TG lore. In fact there has never been a study that proved this to be true. It sounds good, so people say it and believe it. Genetics likely have a substantial influence, but when you're dealing with an adult body and synthetically induced feminization, there are so many other factors of influence that there can really be no "rule of thumb" on this. Particulars of your body's physiology, your age, the type and dosage of hormones and other drugs can all influence this. It's pretty much like a box of chocolates-- you never know what you'll get.
