Are there any athletic guys here who play sports and/or work out?
I play goalie in ice hockey, I do some roller blading and skateboarding, and will start working out in Spring.
I play Basketball and Football. I have a treadmill and I go for 30 minutes a day, After I do weight lifting, push ups and situps, and the plank challenge to work on my abs and get more toned for a pack. People have been asking me if I work out, Thats a good sign that I'm doing something.
I played soccer up until high school. I had to stop because of marching band. I was going to try out for men's volleyball this spring but it interferes with my percussion ensemble. Ah well. I do some minor lifting/ab workouts, I'm going to get more serious about working out in the spring. I miss soccer a lot.
I used to be athletic, need to get back into it.
I've always wanted to play ice hockey! I used to play volleyball but stopped to help out with theater stuff. (I regret it honestly, volleyball didn't keep me super fit, but I did gain 10 lbs when I stopped).
I roller blade when I go on walks with my dogs, but it's not a super intense exercise and I want to go to the skate parks sometime to learn some more stuff. I also rock climb on occasion, but not enough to really keep me fit. I've got a gym membership but I only go once or twice a month which is horrible of me and I'm working on going more. I used to be fit in the summers because I'd go wakeboarding and waterskiing, but this summer I didn't (was at college instead) and it's noticeable. I also love snowboarding but I suck at it.
haha I love stuff that should keep me fit but I never participate enough to really benefit from it. My New Year's Resolution is to fix this.
I'm pretty good at situps, the highest number of situps I've done is 50. Still have to work on pushups though. I can only do like 10 of them. I have a really skinny, feminine figure so I want to bulk up a bit.
I don't play football much. I'm pretty tall and my family always told me I should be a basketball player but I never really got interested in it. I'm terrible at soccer although I love watching it.
I like playing soccer for fun but I'm afraid that someones foot is gonna hit my ankle the wrong that happend to my sisters friend and they had screws put in there ankle.
In school, we're playing volleyball in P.E. and I'm awful at it. I always thought it was easy without ever actually playing it and boy, was I wrong.
I want to get into lacrosse. I'm part Native American and I'd love to learn how to play. I have free tickets to a Buffalo Bandits game of the NLL.. it's going to be my first lacrosse game I'll see.
I work out, I snowboard, and I bike. I don't play team sports, I'm really uncoordinated.
I plan to work out on P90x3 once I'm healed. My top half is real skinny but the waist down is fatty.
Try Insanity It's crazy but it's worth it.

Tried it years ago but didn't stick with it. I'm hoping the 30 mins a day will be easier to stick with.
I'm athletic, have played sports all my life. Was big into mountain biking (well, more xcountry biking...the flat, faster trails, not big air) for quite a number of years. After I got a dog I found myself hiking those trails more than biking them! I still do a lot of hiking and some biking.
Prior to surgery (10/2013), I did the eliptical 4-5 times per week for cardio and did strength training (Bowflex and free weights). I have been holding off getting back into strength training not wanting to stretch the scars. I need to get back on the horse, though, especially no excuse for not doing cardio.

It's whatever works for you.
I run and recently snowboarded for the second time ever. Kicked my butt!
Up until I hit puberty I was super athletic, nowadays I don't do as many things though.
Started getting into Football about a year and a half ago as a kicker since I'm seemingly terrible at passing or catching lol. Other than that just weightlifting, powerlifting to be exact.
I've been pretty athletic ever since I was a kid. I play ice hockey goalie, but I'm out until next season because my knees are shot. I also take krav maga, but I'm still doing that because it isn't as hard on my knees as goalie anyways :P. Speaking of which, I have a fight scheduled for tomorrow (today? I guess, it's 2 am o.o) so I should probably get some sleep ;D
I always wanted to try snowboarding but I'm not a winter person. I hate the cold and the snow. >_<

Yesterday, I was playing floor hockey with a couple of guys. My body is still so sore from it since we were playing without any pads. My knees hurt from sliding on the ground. I also got slashed a bunch of times and got hit in the neck with a ball.
So basically, moral of story: don't play floor hockey without proper equipment.
Does competitive eating count?
I like to swim...I was on the swim team in high school and such...also kick boxing..I have a pair of boxing gloves in my car..serious workout there

No, I don't think so. :P
I love hiking, biking, yoga, and martial arts... getting more into running and weight lifting mostly due to time constraints on other physical pursuits. I also used to go swimming a lot, but no where to go nearby... well probably is but grad school is what it is... and who has the time?
Wasn't too much of a team sport player I guess I used to, but then I found theatre.. and only have one other friend who enjoys exercise/being active simply for the purpose of being active... she lives a 12 hr drive away soooo yea.
Swimming is going to be a lot more fun this summer since I'm out. I want to get some swimming trunks. It'll kind of be weird having to wear a shirt though.
Swim trunks are the best...its a little weird wearing a shirt at first but you get use to it...they sell shirts made for swimming for guys...it drys faster and stuff...its called a rashguard, they sell them on amazon, surfers use them and stuff...it works well until you get top surgery
If lifting weights at home counts, yeah. Hard to think of myself as "athletic" though, where cardio is concerned I'm out of shape.
I was pretty athletic growing up and I loved soccer. I haven't done any team sports in years but I still work out, do some punching bag boxing, and snowboard.
I was in karate and taekwondo when I was younger. I love martial arts and working out. I seriously flip a big tire around my yard to work out all my muscles. Works well. I'd like to get into some kind of fighting since I'm good at it.
Yes I'm extremely active as I'm a professional athlete. I train a few hours each day which is mandatory, and been doing so for many years.
I have always been active in several sports, though nothing compares to the amount of training, focus and nutritional needs of a professional athlete vs an amateur athlete.
I've never really gotten into martial arts. Probably because I still fight like a girl. :P
Really was never athletic except that I like the individual kinds of things. I took karate, didn't like to spar so much--I'm not really quick enough, but liked the katas and so on. (BTW, of course back then I sparred with girls, yikes some of them are TOUGH, there isn't any sparring like a girl. LOL). I like hiking and this weekend I went snow shoeing with a gay mens group which was really fun.

I used to fence pretty competitively on a women's saber team. Then it got a bit too intense for me... people trying to slice your head off and what not :P
I played soccer in high school because my parents wanted me to, but I was never any good. I took tennis lessons for a little while and I think it's an awesome game. Though I'm better at table tennis- or as my friend calls it, "fat tennis."
Now I'm trying to go to the gym more. I'm curious though: Do you guys wear binders to exercise? I hear you're not supposed to and it can make you lose oxygen and black out. What should you wear then, just sports bras? I want to work out but I'm larger chested and I don't want people to think I'm a girl :-\
Anyone have any advice? Can you get away with wearing a binder for a short period of time?
I love football and basketball.pretty good at both and been trying to work out (small things here and there) but not much I can do because of internal health issues.but by god this summer ill have them fixed and will be going in full swing.can't wait! And speaking of martial arts,I love it and plan to learn as much as I can in multi cultures (I'm an asian buff) so looking forward to it!
Cloudchamber it isn't all that bad lifting with a binder. I wear a pretty loose binder regularly. If it was tight I could see it causing issues. I wear a stretched out medium size Tri top I'm an a-b cup or rather was, just had top surgery. I also cut like three inches off my Tri tops as I hated the tightness on my ribs it didn't allow me breath deeply. I say if you can take a nice deep breath without resistance in your binder it's fine to work out in.
I love working out. I work out usually 6 times a week for 1-2 hours. Used to be really into basketball and baseball, but lost it when I transitioned. I hope to get back into sports at my next school. I wanna try swimming and maybe crew pretty bad, never done either but I row on a machine at the gym. Anyone into swimming? Would I get destroyed if I just started Junior year on a non-competitive team?
Thanks anibioman. I guess it won't be too bad with a binder if I just find a loose one. Also, I have the exact same problem with my tri tops. I'm definitely gonna try out your method!
Congrats on top surgery btw :)

I'm not that good at swimming but it's fun. It took me a while to learn.
I played basketball and went hiking several times a week, and rollerskated a couple times a month until I had some messy ankle surgery a few years ago. Now I do situps and lift weights, and when I get brave enough I would like to make swimming a regular habit. Physical exertion and play are awesome and have nice side effects.
I bike as a means of transportation, does that count? I lift weights as well.

I started using the method of pushup progression in the bodybuilding starter sticky thread. It's working out real well for muscling my arms and shoulders. If you have a tough time with regular pushups it's a real good place to start.
Situps, I just slam out 10-20 here and there throughout the day.
I want to start weight training, add more running, and play more basketball.

I played water polo from middle school through undergrad which was pretty intensive, I still swim when I get the chance, but mainly lift weights, run, hike, and bike nowadays. As far as competition goes, I played in a dodgeball league this past fall which was fun :)
I've gotten really (no seriously, really) lazy the past 3 or 4 years when it comes to fitness. Most of it is due to binding. There isn't anything more uncomfortable than trying to bind in 100 degree humid weather in the Southern United States. Typically I will go swimming in the Summer months but not much else. Now with top surgery on the horizon I'm considering getting a mountain bike. There are a lot of trails in the area. We have a lot of bears around here so might get a stun gun to go with it...zap, Take that Smokey!
Im still in high school and i did swimming for 2 years and was pretty good at it but it made me feel really dysphoric and i only really did it for my parents but thank goodness this year was my last year of swimming maybe this year over the summer i can finish high school.I also did weight training at my high school it was awesome my max was around 135 lb. for bench at one point I also weighed 140. Sins I haven't been lifting much it's been a year sins I've lifted anything at all so it make's sense why my bench is back down to 110.But anyway I really would like to try football, boxing, lacrosse are even hockey once I start taking T,I can't wait!
I need to get back on the exercise boat. Grad school is killer for fitness -- I might be in the worst shape of my adult life.
I walk a lot now, and that's it. Being a teacher is okay exercise and I walk my dog for 20-60 minutes per day. I just started doing some push-ups this month with a buddy of mine. During undergrad I used to bike 35 minutes to school and back, giving me over an hour of hard cycling 4 days per week. I miss it. My right knee isn't in the best shape so running is really out of the question.
