Title: shaving
Post by: kimberly c on February 21, 2014, 12:00:04 PM
Hi girls, to feel the most feminine, I shave my legs, chest and under my arms its a regular routine. My private area I try to shape it
like a vagina. Lingerie feels so much better against smooth skin. One thing I have not done is shave my arms, I think that will
           out me.

                                      Love  Kim

I prefer to wax. I used to do my arms, but the hair has gotten a lot finer there so I don't bother any more.

I don't have much body hair. I shave under my arms and crotch area.

You would be surprised, i shave my arms once a week and no one has ever said nothing.  Legs about twice a week in the winter and three times a week summer. Chest 2 or 3 times a week.  I just started a low does of spiro and hope it helps to lesson hair growth.

I epilate everything! It feels like it never grows back because I just take out hairs on a regular basis. I shave sometimes too just in case I missed anything

Just hoping my feet and hand hair goes away. Oh and back hair. Uhhhh gross

When I checked out the No No on Amazon I was greeted with a majority of negative reviews on it, so I decided against it and just got an epilator instead. The first time I used it there was a lot of pain, but now it doesn't bother me at all.  The first time I did my chest, though, whewwww that was painful!  Needed a lot of wine to make it through lol

If you are going to shell out the money for the No No, you might want to look into the Tria Laser Hair Removal System.  Judging from your picture it should work great with your complexion and hair and it will be pretty much the same thing as getting it done professionally.

I just found a Groupon for laser and I am going to go that route instead of doing it myself.  For now I am fine with the epilator and shaving.  I used to be the hairiest person I know but those days are long gone!

Been waxing for years. I don't have any hair to speak of on my legs anymore, but I still have to do the "bikini" thing. Yes, I do my pits that way too. The hardest part is  the small of my back. I started waxing my chest a couple of years ago, I'm beginning to see an effect similar to the lack of regrowth I see on my legs. Might be the hormones. I tried waxing my eyebrows. Works great, nice clean lines! As for my face, I use a safety razor for now. Thinking about electrolysis.

I have heard conflicting stories about he nono. I would say, if you were going to try it, check kijiji, don't buy a new one.

This might be a reasonable place to start:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3_R_yrOVjyQ (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3_R_yrOVjyQ)

I use a water soluable sugar based "cold wax". You need to heat it for about 15 sec in a microwave to give it the consistancy of honey. I spread in on with a butter knife. Don't worry so much about the sound...
Since it's water soluable, clean up is easy and you can reuse the strips. Drop the used ones in warm water, the wax dissolves, give them a rinse and let them dry. The brand I use is Persian Cold Wax, but I have also used Parissa Body Sugar.

Gee... California. No guarantee it will still be there in 10 years, San Andreas Fault and that sort of thing.
There's always Canada, eh? It's a bit cooler here, but what with global warming, you should be able to grow oranges here soon too, and we have the government health plan and the currency should look familiar.

I keep my arms shaved and no one has ever said anything.  Besides, when is the last time you've seen a male model with a hairy body. Being hair free is standard for them.  For this reason I don't think people give it muc thought.

Besides the cost of the unit, the Tria has a very small emission point. You're pretty much zapping one hair at a time.

I decided to try the " Silkin' SenSiphil". It's emission is about 1"x2" so you can get an area done in a reasonable amount of time.  The unit wasnt that expensive ($70) but of course the ~750 shot cartridges are $30 each (old razor and razor blades gimmik again, but less bought in bunk).  I've had it for about 4 months and used it as recommended every 2 wks.  My chest is largely hair free with only a very fine regrowth, and a few stubborn stragglers that are grayer/blonder than the rest. Beard and neck are also holding out, they didnt just fall out and die as advertised/hoped,  but growth has slowed down and should stop at this rate. Starting my legs and its been about the same.  The sting, smell of burnt hair, and shrivelled up little bastards is strangely satisfying.   >:-) And as mentioned, it doesn't take hours and hours to do a patch of hairy skin.

Hmm, I got rid of my body hair in stages...

Two decades ago, I just used the electric razor to get rid of hair on the hands. I did that regularly and nobody noticed. When crossdressing, I just used long-sleeved dresses and tops, and extra-opaque tights (or wear two pairs).

15 years ago, I could afford occasional vacations on my own, and so on the first day I would shave everything with a blade, and let it grow. I even used to have a beard! So I would enjoy 2-3 days of crossdressing and 3-4 days just letting everything grow back. Nobody noticed, although I got some encouragement about having a shorter beard :)

Then I finally got rid of the beard, and, almost a decade ago, I told my wife about my crossdressing. I would shave myself clean before each session. Some months afterwards, a few familiars noticed my 'bare' arms, joked a bit, but I confirmed that I shaved the body hair regularly and wasn't turning back. Everybody just got used to it.

For many years I used to shave myself fully once or twice per week. At this stage, I really don't get any comments — getting rid of body hair is perfectly normal for males. My wife only wishes me to keep the hairs on the abdomen (don't ask me why! It's a fetish, I guess...), which is all right for me, since I *always* wear a corset over them anyway.

Last month I start getting laser hair removal, mostly because I'm lazy and tend to waste way too much time shaving everything :) It's still too early to know about the results, but they look promising so far. The laser operator didn't even ask funny questions; a substantial amount of her clients (not half of them, but close) are males, because, well, having no body hair is perfectly normal for both males and females these days.

If you wish to have a perfect excuse for shaving off all your body hair, start swimming. All swimmers who become at least semi-pros get rid of their hair (looking for the extra edge by reducing water friction), and that's a perfect excuse. If you dislike swimming, you can also try cycling: amateurs, semi-pros and pros will at least always shave their legs, and I seriously suspect that many will do the rest too, since it's a bit silly to have all your body hair from the waist up, but nothing below.

Post by: JamesG on March 20, 2014, 10:16:13 PM
it was explained to me that (that preson's) reason was that leg hairs would pull and get ingrown on the tights they wear for many hours at a time and. it looks weird to have only certain parts shaved.

I just think bodyhair is gross and shaving is a sucky waste of time.  So zap it I do.

I've had about 20 hours of electrolysis and it is absolute torture but it does work.

Need to be careful as I had thermal burns on my neck that didn't fade for almost 6 months.

Agreed... no one notices when you shave your arms.  If you are that self conscious though you might start by using a body shaver with a No 2 or 3 comb, see how it goes and then move to a No 1. If you are ok with the reception go for the blade or wax.  You might also try bleaching your arm hair.

I shave everything...but it is so hard to shave where I can't see or reach very well. Lucky me my back isn't hairy!

The hair on my arm is disappearing. It is each time thinner and growning slower. The rest of my body hair is growing slower bur more or less the same way as before.

I only shave. Never had any other deplation method...and even this way the results are going well.

My beard is growing slower and I did just one session with intense pulsed light and I am amazed that I got a lot of bald patches on my beard...and the sideburns disappeared almost completely only with HRT.

I use a combination of epilator and shaving. I epilate everywhere about once a month and shave in between. Though the epilator hurts at first, it gets better each time, and the hair grows back finer and more slowly in most areas. Thankfully, though, I was never been very hirsute to begin.

I always disliked body hair but only really shaved it off for practical reasons and when necessary, or whenever I got bored.  I tried waxing once and all I got from it was "Never again, ever.  Ever.  EVER.".  So if I'm considering laser-hair removal.

Here's an update.

I tried hair-removal cream (Veet for Men for a little over £5 on Amazon, though it's twice the price if you include delivery).  It's worked an absolute treat.  I've had no burns (though I got some minor irritation marks from the scraping tool which went away quickly).  I didn't apply any on the genitals, just around them, and all the hair was removed painlessly.  I've missed a few spots and there wasn't enough in the tube for my entire body so I've ordered another.  Far more comfortable than shaving (though likely not that more effective), no maroon areas!

It's not like that with everyone though, some might have an allergic reaction to the gel.  So I don't want to recommend it right off the bat to anyone.

My calves are ever so smooth.

Hi Kimberley,
I tried it too, and while it did work, it had some issues for me:
1) I needed to really glob it on to get consistent results - otherwise I'd get leftover patches and would have to repeat. This made the process more tedious than shaving.
2) While the removal was indeed painless, the re-growth had the exact same problems as with shaving: painful stubble, and occasional irritated follicles.

Overall, I'd rate it on par with shaving.

True words sister.  I am tired of the UK weather too.  We used to get a summer but now all we get is rain and clouds.  If it was not for the nights getting lighter you would not know it was summer.  I am with you with the California tip.  I want to move there to get sun and be with positive people.  I have always wanted to live in the US and am going to just do it.  I will need to shave more but think electrolysis will be the one.  its cheeper in the USA too.

I'm only just rediscovering myself, but I used to keep my legs shaved during the winter months in college.  The first time I did it, I used a blade and got really bad ingrown hairs on my thighs.  After that, I did some experimenting and would use a combination of an electric hair trimmer (like at the barbers) to get the bulk of it off, then switch to a ladies electric razor.  The benefit there was that I'd get smooth legs without the hairs going beneath the skin.  So I got far fewer ingrown hairs, but did have to shave more regularly.

They probably won't even say anything.  Mine didn't and we spend a good amount of time in the pool together every summer.  I've always been noted as the guy who wears a sweater underneath his shirt.  This summer I was completely hairless and no one even mentioned it!

Guys don't pay attention and aren't going to strike up a conversation about your body hair.

Girls will notice, but then feel self-conscious about their own body hair and not mention anything.

On the other hand, I'm a sleeveless black T-Shirt kinda guy. And I'm absolutely certain that my daughter will ask. As I said, we have a good excuse for my chest, other areas she'll never see. But pits are almost always visible due to the sleeveless shirts, and the legs while wearing shorts. Frankly, she's who I'm worried about. This is what I do as well. It makes the legs smooth.

I'm currently in mental turmoil over deciding what to do with my leg hair. My legs were smooth in winter but not now.
I feel shame when I shave them even though I want it gone.. sucks having these fights within yourself.

I shave as many areas that I can. The boob area, stomach, underarms are a must (doing that for several years), the legs I have been shaving for the last two years at least, starting with every month or two to lately every couple of days. I don't know if it should be done that often, but they are so smooth now. Pubic area, of course, also. Was thinking of buying a waxing kit and getting rid of the hair for a month or more.
