basically finish the sentence you know you're trans when... with as many things as you can think of
for example
you know you're trans when you wonder if it's time to tell your parents your name
you know you're trans when you get to the point where you never want to hear your birth name or the wrong pronouns again and then you have to hear them again
you know you're trans when you don't want to change your facebook profile picture because you know facebook will misgender you and fixing that feels much too scary to do anytime soon
you know you're trans when you want to wear a dress , but you worry that it will show your boobs and that will make you dsyphoric
you know you're trans when you always feel conflicted between wearing things that will help you pass and wearing what you feel like wearing
You know you're trans when you start shaking six minutes after this site goes down! :laugh:
you know you are trans when you linger before the washroom doors trying to decide which one to use... :/
...waking up to find reality and your self image just don't match.
Your brain finally runs on the correct hormones. (well, that's what clinched it for me...)

Pretty much all my knowledge on these subjects stems from being trans. :D
You find yourself answering to the full female version of your birth name way more often than the male version.
Friends and their family decide the full female version of your bith name suits you very well.
(The name I was given is a common use nickname. ie Jo, Sam, Danni. Not Joanna/Joseph, Samantha/Samuel, Danielle/Daniel)
... when the lady at the Ulta finds it difficult to believe you've never tried to use makeup before.
... when you become hyper aware of gendered interactions, even when they're not directed at you.
... When you fidget every few minutes to make sure nothing slipped or unbound.
... when you have to awkwardly explain you got your shoes online because no stores carry your size.
... when you get stares for looking amazing in a clothing store, and yet none of the clothes there fit or are tall enough.

... you live with the understanding that being yourself comes with great risk. Loss of family, friends, home, etc is so prominent in trans groups, it makes you that much more thankful for what you have.

i watched the ben stiller movie The Secret Life of Walter Mitty and i literally felt like that movie was subliminally telling me to transition. The word transition was used so many times lol.

Cringing so hard mentally after hearing the wrong pronouns (especially formal ones for me "Sir/Ma'am") that it's hard to focus on the conversation. I swear every time I hear a "Sir" directed at me my whole body tenses up and their next few lines are pretty much gone. - This is regardless if I'm "out" to them or not. It's one of my biggest triggers..
you spend the entire day checking your chest is behaving (whichever way you're going with that!)

...you have a love/hate issue with your long hair even if you think long haired men are damn sexy.
...you get worried about being too short before starting transition.
...you can't avoid be hit by envy of cis guys even if you detest this particular feeling.
...you see an androgynous girl and you know deep inside you wouldn't feel ok being like her.

Agree 100%. For a long time other players just thought I WAS a girl, they never asked. When I finally said I was a guy some were actually pissed off... others did not believe me. Yeah it was weird.

I have been called out as my birth gender once, and I was playing a very effeminate, gay, male character! If there is voice chat, it's obvious I'm female, but with only text chat I am always pegged as male. (I am female by birth gender, considering FtM trans.)
