Title: Aspiringperson is now Alaskan Danielle
Post by: Northern Star Girl on March 09, 2018, 07:31:44 PM
OK, I have hesitated long enough...   Aspiringperson is now Alaskan Danielle
I have decided that since I have been living full-time for 16 months it's time to change my name on my profile to my real name.   My name is Danielle.  I have been on Susan's long enough now that I feel that you should know me by my name and not any longer as Aspiringperson although at the time I thought it was appropriate as an initial screen name. :) :)

Danielle of the north

I think you made a great choice in names, it does fit you nicely. Obviously old news for you but anyway...

Hi Danielle,
Thank you for sharing this personal aspect of yourself. I always like to use people's name. It is more personal. A pretty name it is.
I have had two Alaskan Malamute's in my time Ashley. Beautiful doggies.

Alaskan? Do you live there now? Or did you grow up there? The reason I ask is that I have family in Anchorage. My little cousin just came out as a trans man.

Way to go, Danielle! As  AspiringPerson you have been the welcoming face for may newcomers and have provided support to those who need it. Your smile, I believe, is a great entry into those discussions.

Keep up the great work, Alaska Danielle!
Hugs,
Kelly

@ StacyRenee: Immediately after I went full time 16 months ago I relocated here from the Pacific Northwest area and started my own business.
Wishing good luck to you and your cousin in both of your transition journeys.

@ KarenElizabeth
:  You are right about Alaska ... most towns, especially the very small town that I am in may possibly not be the most welcoming place for transgenders.   Fortunately I pass 100% and it has not become and issue... yet.  Everyone here only knows me as a middle age woman but I am certain that the day will come, perhaps sooner instead of later, that I will be the talk of the small town gossip groups.... if it happens, it happens, and I will deal with it.

38 isn't middle aged. As a 35 year old I should know.

Good for you sharing your real name.  It's so pretty. Now I don't have to keep a secret any more.  Do you prefer Danielle or Dani, or either?

Always nice to put a name to a face.

Even better to put a name to a smiling face.

Better still to put a name to a smiling face and a great motivator.

I also like your motto - loving living female is simply what its all about!

I lived there too from 1987 to 1991 in Anchorage.  I really liked it.  I got to spend a little time in Nome which I thought was kind of like stepping back 100 years through a time machine.

@ Deborah:   Oh yes, for sure.... stepping back in time.   Nome is about twice the size of the little out of the way little town I now live in.   It's full of hunters, outdoors men, etc... and probably not the most trans-friendly place to live.... but I relocated here as a female 17 months ago, living full time, started my own small business, and I have developed lots of friends, business clients and a group of cis girlfriends that I go exercising with... at this time, there is no one that knows me other than as a woman... but the day may be coming that I will have to reveal my past and I will be most likely be the talk of the town... just hoping it won't adversely affect my business and my close friends (male & female) that I have made in this 17 months.  I am not looking forward to that but when it comes I will deal with it.

One memory that sticks in my mind was when I was out hunting in a remote place with no roads, only dirt trails for ATVs and some isolated cabins.

I was walking down the trail and passing me in the other direction was a rather small woman carrying a baby in one arm and with a rather large .44 mag under the other arm (LOL).

It was just so incongruous looking for someone that grew up in civilization.

PS.  We did get a big moose that day.  They are no fun to clean. ☹️
