Must be something special here for you to come back ?
I'd love to visit Japan one day , on another list of things to do lol.

Good luck! Be honest with them and push for a referral even if they are a little reluctant. I wish I had been more assertive as I'm still not referred and my initial GP appointment was 9th January! x
Well, a more progressive and less costly method for transitioning is pretty high up there (I'm pre-everything at the moment) for coming back to the UK. Laws and society in Japan in regards to transgender are nowhere near what they are in the UK. Plus NHS. Say what you want about its current state, but it has helped me and my family so much over the years I dread to think what would have happened with a private/insurance based health care system.
Except when they talked me out of transitioning. That was a bummer.

Hello to you all
I live in Lancashire.
I see you have League One clubs at Walsall, Northampton and Blackpool as do I at Bury, Rochdale & Oldham.
I cannot meet yet but would consider sometime in the future.
I know Susan's has a lot of UK members.
Nice to chat as always.
All the very best to you.

Same here actually. They have been very good in the past. My mum would be dead (cancer) and I had about 40k worth of surgery to correct a jaw malocclusion, it's just that the current system can't cope with the HUGE rise in transgender cases. I do feel guilty sometimes that I'm adding to the problem when resources are stretched to breaking point and the elderly are lining the corridors in A&E departments all over the country because of the lack of beds/funding.
QuoteExcept when they talked me out of transitioning. That was a bummer.
Yeah that's not great. It did not fix the 'problem' though did it? Just delayed it. :(

No. Though I don't know what her reasoning behind it was. Perhaps it was at the time my mental health was in a terrible state maybe she was fearful that transitioning would take such a toll on me that I might choose to end it.
Now thankfully my mind is clear and I will be transitioning, come hell or high water!

Nottingham gic. Its 2 year min in the letter
Some of you know I decided to go private with GenderGP and I am very happy with their service.
However I must point out I have great admiration for our NHS and always use it for all matters apart from Transgender as they cannot cope with our rapidly rising numbers (as I'm sure you know).
Back briefly to football, sorry I omitted another League One Lancashire club, Fleetwood.
Katie: At least Northampton are in a much better position than Bury and Rochdale!
Pamela
Norfolk :) but not a local! I've been referred up to Nottingham and it's a two year wait. I've been thinking about the GenderGP team and whether or not that would be a good idea.

Hello Molly
I truly feel sorry for those of us who cannot afford private treatment.
All I would add is that advice at GenderGP is free and the admin team is very helpful.
Decision to go private ( even if only temporarily) is up to you of course.
I wish you and all other posters on this thread the very best on their journeys.
Pamela
Football ....... what's that all about. Guys get paid to kick a bag of wind around lmao ;D
Personally I'm not into it , so I couldn't tell you where what team is and all that stuff :-/
I've recently contacted gendergp and their response so far has been real nice and friendly.
I went to the docs yesterday and I've got to go get my bloods done on Monday. He said once they were back he'd be happy to refer me ;D
So happy xx
Very south Worcestershire, near that hilly bit. With Gender GP and waiting on Nottingham , 1 year wait so far. Went full time but don't pass at all , don't have any expectations just being me. Not found any local groups yet just a friend in wales
How are you finding gendergp davina ? How long was it before you were taking meds?

Marie you forgot the obvious Triumph motorbikes ;D <3 I am guessing you have used Retropower, they are a mile or two from me.
Took a couple of months to sort but that was getting bloods done and sorting my GP out ( she has been fantastic)
Now that's the sort of place I wish I was working at, currently restoring my 68 bay panel and have a long term Austin hot rod build as well.

I'm yet to own a triumph motorbike , my 600 bandit will have to do for now. 8)

Hey all! Just to add to the conversation. I'm in Bedfordshire (Biggleswade), and under the care of the CX GIC. I was referred in Jan 2015. I started HRT last July and in three weeks have an appointment to get my first GRS signature.
I used GenderGP for a low-dose trial in 2016 to help to me decide if transition was right for me (it was!), was very happy with their service.
I'm an out and open transwoman, and a leader on the LGBT network for my blue chip employer.
Happy to meet if anyone is in the area.

Marie is right though, nobody is that far away in the UK.
Regarding bikes, in the past I'd never been interested or given them a second thought really. But over the past year or so (since starting to finally work out who I am?), it is something that has become quite appealing. Or maybe that's just a mid-life crisis thing (the desire to have a bike that is, not being trans!)

Hi (Catching up with posts as I just found this one)
I'm South Derbyshire - originally from South Manchester, still have my Yamaha TRX850 (Girls bike) that I got to ride slower, and really looking forward to being able to get in some girlie leathers for a ride out. With GenderGP for a few months now (see ticker below), Nottingham GIC are supposed to be assessing my GP referral this week, but I'm transitioning anyway, still too tall/fat/non-passing and still have too may internalised issues to go out other than Trans groups such as Chameleons in Nottingham (have done the 'Nottingham Invasion (trans)' once so far). Hope to break my fear and go to Sparkle in Manchester next week (just after IPL so that may be an issue) so trying to persuade my friends to go.
Would love a meet up, and yes seems like its either its the water in the midlands or something else..
Cya soon

Yes things have been so busy this year with transitioning, getting my business & home life in order and then recently applying to college. Now things are finally starting to smooth out a bit I'm trying to make some time for Susan's as I've missed everyone here

Oh wow, I was born just round the corner, used to live in Burnham.
There seems to be a lot of GenderGP girls here, it just shows how slow NHS is to help us, it seems as if its regarded as not a life threatening situation. Again as I have said before so many people think this is a choice and in reality it isn't , its he only path for us. But it is so very hard. So looking forwards to meeting the warriors you all are.
Anyway, I'm hoping to go to Sparkle this year as well, anyone else?
