I am currently scheduled for my BA over Labor Day weekend this year.
My questions are:
At what point did you know you needed (or didn't need) a BA to achieve a size you were comfortable with?
If breast growth is still occurring, and the girls are still taking shape, how does this affect the final outcome- both in terms of shape and size.
Does your natural shape have a big part in what desired shapes/looks are achievable?

I've been on HRT for a little over two years now, 18 months of which have been transition level dosages/levels.
I've seen general rules of thumb that state don't get a BA until at least a year of HRT, and at the two year mark the growth isn't going to be substantial enough to make a difference. These rules however however seems to be from days gone by where bio identical hormones were not used and thus full potential of breast growth was never achievable.
I had scheduled in March of this year and thought growth was pretty much at a plateau however for the past 3-4 months my breasts have definitely been filling out more and taking shape. My best friend who is helping me with researching a chosen look was surprised a couple weeks ago of how "perky" my boobs were.
My frame is pretty small for being a trans woman, and I'm at the low end of healthy for my BMI- ie I'm skinny. My chest/rib cGe are on the larger side for what you would expect a cis female to have given my build.
I am, and expect to stay apple shape as well.
What I'm not sure about is if future growth/shape will affect the overall look and size (natural vs implant shapes fighting each other, and breads getting too large).
While less likely I still am concerned that there is a slight chance I won't need a BA at all, given my current growth spurt.
34 large B (tissue is spread out across rib cage and currently needs stuffing into a bra to get that full cup.
130 lbs. 5 ft 9
Thanks for the help and advice!
That's a difficult question to answer because people develop at different rates. I would suspect the number would range between 2 and 5 years for most of the development to take place. Some of the member report a great deal of development in 2 years where I was still AA at 5 or 6. Over time I moved into an A but in the last 2 years, I became a B.
The risk of getting implants early is the placement might be wrong if you have additional development. I heard stories when I transition where girls had implants early then latter had them removed because they ended up looking wrong after additional development.

Yeah. Those are both certainly concerns for me as well. I did not expect growth to continue accelerating at this point in my transition, and the placement issue you mentioned is also concerning.
I can certainly postpone but don't know if it's the right call either way.
Difficult indeed Dena
I was about 2 years on HRT and had an A. I scheduled a BA with GCS and waited a year to have the surgery. There was an issue and had the BA 6 months after the GCS. I did not grow much if any in the 1.5 years. If you are still growing I would be cautious and wait additional time, unless the growth is very small. You may want to discuss this with your doctor.

Thanks for the input Rachel!
Yeah right now my growth is pretty significant still, probably the fasted I've had since starting HRT. Definitely a surprise as my growth had been slow but fairly steady until about November of last year and then plateaued for about 4 months. I assumed any additional growth would be minimal but that does not seem to be the case here.
This will definitely need more thought.
Thanks again!
