They may be quite useful as the temperature levels lower.

Hi Gaydave,

I'm a mature, closeted CD and the "change" that I enjoyed recently was "nail polish".  I was on vacation in an urban area so the "closet" aspect was not as limiting as usual and I went to a (busy, Vietnamese) salon and had my fingers and toes done.  It took a few minutes after the manicure/pedicure for them to understand that I also desired "color polish" (the "mature" aspect?) but after some initial uncertainity, they were professional about it.

Then, as I walked out into the larger world, came my uncertainity - but I relaxed into it and it was ok for the week or so I had left on my vacation.  During that week I received various "looks", a few negative but most were merely curious (with even one complementary from a younger woman).  As the vacation ended, it was with some regret when I took the polish remover and cotton balls and slowly closed the closet door again.

  Love, Carolina

Carolina
My heart is filled with regrets. When I seen your note it makes me want to shake regrets off and live. We regret what we did not do more than what we have done so we need to bring balance into our lives so the expression of satisfaction glows on our face along with a smile all the way up to the eyes.

GayDave,
A wardrobe that feels good is as important as one that makes you feel good inside.  I will take the que from you and wear something today that makes me feel good.

Many hugs,
Louis

Dear Carolina,

I know how you feel.  I was out of town on work for a few days, and free in the evenings to dress up.  I'm home now and it's good to be home, but it was nice to be "out" too.  Maybe someday I'll be both places a the same time.  Perhaps you too, someday.

Warm Regards.

Paulie

Hello Carolina,

I would love to get my nails done properly and walk out with them and I really admire that you've done that. It's quite inspiring! Perhaps that will be the change I make next.

It's a lot of fun to go to a salon and have them done by a pro.  Be prepared for a lot of stares/comments though.  Just another I ticked off.

I had several Pedi's at a walmart with color polish and no one batted a eye, even any of the other female customers.   I was just one of the girls to them.  First time I was kind of edgy after that I was just fine and had a good time with the other ladies in the pedi chair.

I get a pedi once a month with nail polish. I know the owner and the staff of the nail salon I go to. Everyone is very friendly, and I'm just another customer. Such an enjoyable experience getting a pedicure while sipping on a cup of coffee from Starbucks.
