MY RESULTS
"Your Gender Identity
Are You More Masculine or Feminine?
tinkerbell, you're 7% masculine
This is based on how you scored on a variety of traits that, founded on classic research and our own studies, are typically associated with men.
You're also 93% feminine, which is based on how you scored on traits that are typically associated with women. When we compare your results with other women it shows that you are somewhat less masculine than other women.
But what is gender identity exactly? A person's gender identity is defined by the extent to which they see themselves as masculine or feminine. Every person possesses both masculine and feminine qualities to some degree, however the extent to which each person has these qualities differs widely. While you were taking the test, we calculated your scores in 6 areas typically defined as masculine and 6 areas typically defined as feminine".
I'm sick of these tests. :P I'm a female and sometimes I'm feminine and sometimes I'm more masculine and that's all that matters. :) I don't need a test to tell me that. :-*

I understand your feelings Melissa. I was disappointed with this one.

Ha.. .ha..ha...You girls are so funny. :D.....LOL...this is just for fun; only you know how you are, so don't pay too much attention to the results... ;D, just for fun.........F U N ! ;D

Hi Tink,
I know why I score low. I'm great at reading maps and not so good at read people. ;)
So the test says I'm not average, :o what's new. ::)

What can I say - sort of makes sense 2 me. But, as Melissa herself said - how I feel varies, bit like the tides, Rana comes & goes, am sometimes neap or sometimes king (or is that queen??)

I didn't even bother taking it. I've gotten sick of taking tests to find out how feminine or how female I am, when I already know myself.
So, I won't feel obligated to take the test.
Melissa
Don't like tests but had a go...
91% Feminine
9% Masculine
Thank God for that, couldn't afford another Gender Reassignment...

Buffy
Okay. I dare anyone to laugh.
My results:
Nero, you're 57% feminine and 43% masculine. When we compared your results with other men, it shows that you're somewhat more feminine than other men.
This is probably because I have so many "feminine" traits, such as actually being in touch with my emotions, not being a gym bunny or sports-addict, and my appreciation of beauty.
Okay, so I'm not the stereotypical guy - like I didn't know that. ::)
Boy, this is really good for my self-esteem. :D

Ok, I decided to take the test anyways. Here's my results:

I guess if I transition, it will be two-thirds of the time! Melissa, I agreee with you about these quick (or even not so quick) tests, but they can still be fun. I just checked in, now I hear the lawn mower calling. Definitely a one-third moment. I'll be bock. :P

Alright, I took it. 10% feminine, 90% masculine.

Don't forget the results are subject to change. If I had taken the test 6 months ago, I may have ended up more masculine, but living life as a women has had some effect on me.

Hi Rana,

I don't take it as anything more than a fun test because I can see what answer I should give in order to get the results that I want. But I did answer truthfully, so, as my grand feminine self glowers over my little male self, I feel fine.
I just wish I looked 96% female. Get some hair, get 4 inches shorter, no facial hair, thinner nostrils, some breasts, a waistline. a strong voice.
Guess what?? Do you remember Marco's results: 10% feminine and 90% masculine?

This is the first site that I have seen with a test where they explain accurately that gender and sex are two very different things, and the test is on gender ( social roles) and they then tell how your "Gender" results relate on average to a particular "sex" on average for our cultural values/expectations.
Whenever I run across someone that is aware of the gender/sex division I find that I take the source a little more serious than the sites and or writers, researchers etc that do not do so. I guess that is the academian in me coming out. But I believe accuracy in this division is very important.
Stereotypes do tell you things about our behavior on a spectrum; where the cluster is where it is.
As for my results, they are not relevant, but they were what I would expect them to be. They however are not where they would have been years ago, because ( in my opinion) gender expression and how it is defined shifts with time.
Peace,
Taylor
Personally I do not trust these tests so much, but I like to see my scores.

Have you never tryed to take this one: http://www.bbc.co.uk/science/humanbody/sex/add_user.shtml (http://www.bbc.co.uk/science/humanbody/sex/add_user.shtml)? It seems to me much more complex and 'scientific' of any other found on the net.
By the way, the tickle test returns that I am 10% masculine and 90% feminine.
The bbc's test returns a scale that is 0 to 100 (0 female, 100 male or vice versa) with average female score of 25 and average male score of 75.
On this scale my score was 50 ???. Anyway I had some problem taking the test araising from my limited knowledge of English language.
All the best!
39% female
61% male
This is more or less consistent with other tests of this sort. I am an androgynous crossdresser.
I was very reluctant to take this test because you had to sign up and give them your e-mail. I got an e-mail from them in response and instead of my test results (as I had been led to believe the e-mail was about) it was an ad to pay for a more extensive report. >:D

Tinkerbell and Kate
Thank you so much for those supportive and kind words. You have no idea how much your comments have comforted me. I dont want to hijack this thread to talk about myself - but its sort of related, I FEEL more feminine than masculine. I dont look, sound, or act that way. But, since I have been coming here I have been changing in outlook, in essential ways. No - changing is NOT the correct word it is like internal chains or controls are breaking down & slipping away and I am becoming more in tune with myself, more honest as it were. I feel it is making me a better person, more at ease with myself, and that strangely people are responding more positively towards me.
Yet, there are drawbacks - I am feeling more emotional, and that is NOT a good way to be, it scares me. I see parallels in myself and others here in Susans, but I DO NOT WANT to go down the paths they have chosen.
In truth Tinkerbell & Kate, I see your beautiful pics & I do envy you both, but my circumstances are different. I am now both happier and sadder & am sort of rudderless. I can remember reading once "little devils so proud of their Hell" thats me, maybe a chance to escape and so scared

[rant]I think this test means little, while fun, and a nice idea, it doesnt show that while some may be 'more masculine than most women' or whatever, does that matter? what most women is this?
in my house, all my housemates are in my universities officer cadet group, and thier all GGs... :P heck, im a tomboy, but sowhat? im female, female doesnt automatically mean feminine, feminine is a trait we all have, and can express because were female. we can be masculine, but its different to the male masculine,
lol [/rant]
69% feminine, 31% masculine. I guess I can live with that if the authors of the test consider being scientific and analytical to be masculine traits.
Posted on: 2006-September-03, 10:38:31 PM
I should add that the test is mislabeled; it doesn't test gender identity at all, merely where one stands in matters with a statistical correlation.

Uh Oh!
If you take any person who is strongly masculine or strongly feminine, you can teach them to learn the part where they are weak.
With the goal (arbitrary goal/ no real reason to do this) being for an individual to become 50-50 on tests like this,The question is: is it easier to teach a masculine person feminine traights, or is it easier to teach a feminine person masculine traights?
