Before voting, make sure, is it bone you are feeling wider? or is it fat around it?
Would you volunteer hips waist bust measurements?
Would you write your age? also the age of starting hrt?
I am interested in the statistics as people said they are quite sure they had bone growth.
I remember reading somewhere the hips bones don't really ever fuse untill 30s or 40s if at all.
I can't remember where I read it, so I can't get the source, sorry.
I will start with mine:
I started at age 19 but had to stop estrogens after 3-5 months, continued antiandrogens, restarted estrogen about 2.5 months ago.
I am not sure if the bones themselves widened but they look quite wide, not as wide as my mother, I am quite sure the hips looks different than before HRT, could be bones and fat or just the one.
measurements are 34/26/34(33?) h/w/b
H/W/B - Hips/Waist/Breast? I thought most places listed them as B/W/H. Look at any model listed on Wikipedia, they are all listed that way. It is the way I posted mine on the other thread.
hmm I'll reverse it then for the sake of this thread 39-29-35
32/30/40 and not a bit of fat on my body. I started HRT at 19 and was on it for years.
I do believe the HRT affected my bone growth in my hips.
EDIT: My numbers were underbust, waist, hips

40! whoa, that's bigger than mine back when I had em! pretty good.
Woot my topic started another one
Sorry kind of a troll post
well I have padding but no bone growth, but then I was 50 when I started hrt.
I would Kill for hips. But I do have a nice Butt/ backside which I am tickled pink about. thanks Mom. partly due to the hips tilting back a bit. It happens to some I hear.

Please dont laugh at me:
H/W/B
45/38/45
I know im FAT! >.<
Yay for insomnia! :-\
Yet to be determined I guess, but for the sake of adding numbers:
I'm 25, I started HRT ~4.5 months ago, height is 70" B-W-H is 39*-33-41. I have more weight to lose but I'm getting there so I do hope my waist will continue to get smaller. If I press a finger at the widest point on my hips there isn't much "padding" at all, almost nothing compared to my waist.
*So I guess the dumb question from me, since I seem to be seeing it two different ways for this ratio online, is the bust measurement supposed to be under or at the fullest? I measured at the fullest...
Bust is at the fullest.
I'm confused about hips -- are we talking hip bones or widest part of the hip area? Because I get wider below the actual hip bones.

Traditionally you measure around the widest part of your hips (butt) The legs being farther apart is a sign of lower pelvis growth so you must be pretty feminine..
Damn you girls are curvier than me.

Thanks that's what I was wondering... except that I don't have the ass to go with the 'hips', yet :(. It's just wide where the leg bones connect to the pelvis or something? Hopefully HRT will give me something in back :P.

Underbust is directly below the breast. Bust is the breast.
Like you calculate bras (well, generally) it's underbust +4/5 (even/uneven) to get bra band, then every additional inch of the bust to the band number is a cup.

I am not sure who here said the legs are farther apart? I think she just said there is more fat below the bone itself? (around the thighs)

I don't know about legs being father apart, but I did say I get wider below my hip bones. And it's not fat around the thighs because I'm skinny -- I *wish* I had more fat on my thighs!
My mother, grandmother and friend all have it bone at the sides, not fat.
I dobut we get fat at the sides, only at the back, but maybe.
They have wider hips than shoulders.
Measuring around my shoulders is about 38-40 (hard! tape keeps falling), around the hips it's 33-34. have quite a difference!
Personally I am not sure if mine is wider than men or not, definitely has fat at the back but not at the sides.
Then again, I am a bit overweight also, and most of my fat is still around the waist so who knows what the next months of HRT will do.
I hope to have the pelvis bone grow a bit more :)
Edit: btw ketsy, would you volunteer your meaures?
50 for hrt start beni you look good in your avitar just a random compliment lol
im not on hrt yet maybe this week i hope i get hips so ill have to follow this to see what the consensus is

LOL I used to get that back then. I remember telling a co-worker about my male past during the time I was "coming out" to others in an attempt to be more authentic in my relationships. She commented that even though I was really tall, she had a hard time believing it because I had such wide hips - which she wasn't used to seeing on guys.
Unfortunately what used to be a boon to my femininity now is a bane. My wife HATES my big hips and HATES is not strong enough of a word. She isn't mad or me or anything, she just wishes I had more masculine hips.
I intentionally wear clothing to minimize them now.
Oh I forgot to post current measurements after my other other question was answered - I'm 26 and this is pre-HRT:
'Hips' - 37
Waist - 27
Bust - ???
I don't have boobs yet! I'm thinking 36-ish would be ideal. Waist used to be 29 but I got it down with a little stretching. 'Hips' will hopefully go up if HRT gives me some behind - and of course there's the possibly of the mythical bone growth that may or may not happen.
I'm 22, with about 5 months of HRT.
B- 36
W- 29
H- 37
My chest used to be a 38, waist 32, hips have stayed the same.
My latest measurements, taken about a week ago.
Height - 69
Weight 143 (as of this morning)
Shoulder Circumference - 42in
Overbust - 35in
Bust - 34in
Underbust - 32in
Waist - 27.5in
Hips - 35.5in
I wanted to include my a couple extra, to give you a better picture. My shoulders are a little big, but I got a bit lucky and broke my collarbone back in highschool (nasty fracture - snowboarding accident) and one bone healed on top of the other, by about an inch. My left side is visibly shorter than the right. Lucky I guess (albeit a bit unsightly).
My underbust used to be 34 or 35, it went down quite a bit.

I am 61-62kg, most of my fat is at the waist.
I just noticed I said 26 waist, it's more like 28.5 O_o other measurements are accurate.
Fat's been redistributed nicely & evenly but the bones have remained intact. Can they widen? Don't think so but there's always hip enhancement surgery. Correct me if I'm wrong but doesn't one of the famous FFS doctors, Dr. Zukowsky in Illinois, USA, do this kind of surgery?
I'm 57. Here's my "vitals"...
HRT for 20 months.
5' 4"
127 pounds
36/27/38
Prior to HRT
Same height
183 pounds
37/34/34
Are my hips wider? Ummmm....
im
34/33/34
just kidding..
34/29/32 and yes I know im out of proportion which I will get fixed.
I am 23 for the win
Uh oh. I'm gigantic. :(
Height: 75
Weight: 215
Shoulder: 44.5
Bust: 43
Underbust: 36.5
Waist: 33.5
Hips: 43.5
I started HRT 7 years ago, at 23 years old. I weighed about 240 then. My weight post-transition has gone as high as 260 and as low as 200. I think right now I have at least 50 pounds to lose, especially around my midsection, but other people tell me I'm crazy when I say that. I was down to 210 before my GRS, which didn't take a whole lot of exercise -- I just stopped snacking and eating junk food. I have a weakness for dark chocolate (especially with mint) and ice cream.
My hips have always been pretty wide, but they definitely gained a few inches in circumference. They actually ached in my first two years of transition. I am okay with the width at this point, though I'd love another inch or two to bring them even with my shoulders. The main problem is the height. Since my hips are both wide and tall, I have a lot of trouble finding pants that fit right. I'm planning liposculpture, because I have some stubborn fat right above the crest that doesn't seem to go away. I'm hoping some goes away as I continue to lose weight, but even then I am pretty sure it won't look right without surgical intervention.
My breasts used to be nearly a C-cup, but I lost about a cup size as I've lost weight. Now I wear a 40B, but don't fill it all the way. I've tried 42A, but the fit is wrong. I can practically swim in my old 42B bras. I used to be happy about not needing a BA, but as I continue to eat right, I am set on implants -- I'm just worried that they will look wrong because of my frame.
Hight : 169 (5.5 )
Shoulder: 106 cm (41 in)
Weight :70 kg (154 lbs)
Waist : 71/73 cm (28-ish in)
Hips :95.5 cm (37.6 in) -this is pretty much just bone here
Chest : 86-ish cm (34 in)
Age 20 no HRT
30/24/32 cwh
I started hormones at seventeen, and have been on them for two years. I don't believe that my hip bones have widened, however, if they have, I haven't noticed.
I'm 45kg/100lbs at 5'4"/160cm, so any growth I've experienced would probably be bone growth. Hopefully, as I gain weight, my hips will accumulate enough fat to discontinue my dependence on belts.
I'm 30, my roommate says they've widened but I have a hard time believing him. I know they've gotten wider but I'm not sure if the bones widened or if there's more muscle / fat there. I'd say it's more fat due to common sense but they don't feel very cushioned.
However, there's a theory out there that we all widen with age... HRT or not. http://today.msnbc.msn.com/id/43196931/ns/today-today_health/t/no-fair-hip-bones-really-do-widen-age/#.UM2ebuTAd8E (http://today.msnbc.msn.com/id/43196931/ns/today-today_health/t/no-fair-hip-bones-really-do-widen-age/#.UM2ebuTAd8E)

That's very interesting, I thought the skeleton was static, I guess not.
I'm 21-and-10-months, and I started HRT at 21-minus-4-days. My testosterone is dead; however, my estradiol dose is so low this is the only part of me I can say estradiol changed so far.
I don't have any reliable measurement and am feeling too lazy to take any (whaaaaat? ._.) but since I was -losing- weight all the time, I can testify that it's not fat. My hip bones have grown a bit. Not a ton, but a bit. I had those jeans that fit really perfectly, bought a few months before beginning HRT, and after a while, they just hurt too much at the hips to be worn. Now I lost a little bit of extra weight, so I can wear them again if I'm out of clothes, but they still hurt.
Oh yeah, uhm, some numbers I can provide. I'm 165 cm (5'5") high, and currently weigh a little over 130 lbs. Looks like it might be 132. Gotta love precise scales. I probably weighed about 10 or 12 extra pounds when I started HRT.
My hips have definitely widened. I first noticed when I was sitting in the sand. I was talking with my friend. And I look down and see my knees are facing each other. My legs were in the position of a cis girl. I think I've always had a female type pelvis. I feel as though my skeletal structure was in constant conflict with testosterone. After numerous chiropractor visits and doc appts(they couldn't figure out what was causing it). I was really dismayed with my lower back. Especially since my back went out about 6months before starting hrt. When I started hrt, my back pain that I had been suffering from for years, practically went away in less then a few days. I can't begin to describe the feeling of peace I get now that the nasty pain is gone.
If I do get back pain now. It's because of bad posture (working on it) and nowhere near as painful as it used to be. Hrt has truly been a magical for me
My hips gained in size from 34" to 37"
I'm 22
And btw A, just hit my 9 month! congrats on going onto 11!! I'll be there soon ;)
