Yesterday, I had the opportunity to speak with a chaplain who had been deployed for four months.  She had only seen me at an event the previous week since returning, and we had both been busy at that event, so she had no opportunity to speak to me until yesterday (she delivered the invocation.)

She's the chaplain assigned to minister to the non-standard religions where I work.  So she handles the Wiccans, for instance, and has a fine sense of thoughtful spirituality.

She politely inquired if I was doing what she thought I was doing (transitioning.) After I confirmed that I was indeed transitioning, she said that she felt it was probably the most right thing I'd ever done for myself, and that she felt much more comfortable with the new me than the old me.

I look forward to future conversations with her...

That's really great not only that the chaplain noticed that you seem much happier but that she actually affirmed and encouraged you.
Must feel good.

Those of us in the non-standard....Aka Pagan religions see change in ones life as a need. It's a matter of finding ones Path and following it. That is also why Pagans don't proselytize.

Some of us from more traditional religions affirm you, too, Karen.  But I'm glad you found a friend and mentor.

Karen,

I affirm you before I consider religion!

I'm glad you are finding good support where you work.  It comes in handy to have loyal supporters.
