Hi,
My boyfriend (formerly my girlfriend) and I meet many years ago, before he realized that he is a trans-man....he is 45, and one morning he just decided that he's a man....there was no evaluations...doctor put him on T right away...
Second month of being on T, he started to be attracted to gay porn. We do talk about it, and he doesn't know why just now he is attracted to men. His sexual fantasies are all about penis. I love him with all my heart, and my love for him didn't change since his transition (actually become even more stronger).... but now I really don't know how to take that...is it possible that testosterone can affect one sexual preference?
Help.

Ps. English is not my maternal language - sorry for mistakes.

When you said he got the ok for Testosterone without an evaluation or any therapy...is this what HE said to you....or did you experience the therapist doing this?

Usually, it take a few sessions (at least) to ok HRT.

About him automatically switching his sexual orientation this fast...I think he's liked men before but never expressed himself to the point to "take the plunge."

About the gay porn....it may be the results of the "T."  T does increase the labido...a lot.

I don't know enough about him, but it seems like he's doing some changes too fast. Mid Life Crises mixed with GID.

We were in lesbian relationship for 4 years...and previously he only dated women..... the decision of being a man came from nowhere...he never had this desire when he was younger.. 2 months after his decision doctor put him on T...he went to see psychologist only once, and the doc. after 20 min. of conversation said - there's no doubt in my mind that you are a man.

I'm not doubting the psych knew he was a man after 20 minutes but (at least in the US) there is some time involved before HRT is issued because it has permanent results after awhile. My therapist had no doubt I was a woman but it still took some sessions.

About him all of the sudden liking men....that I have no idea. I am a firm believer that HRT does not change your sexuality that drastically........especially after only 2 months on HRT. It takes a wee longer for HRT to work it's magic than 2 months.

My guess is that he likes the status of being gay. He was gay before because he dated a woman as a woman. Now, he is a man and he wants to date a man. Especially after only 2 months of HRT? I think this is more of a mentality issue for him than a physical one. To be honest, I never met a transgender (male to female) who dated only men....took HRT for 2 months and then started dating women. Never seen it for female to males either.

Not saying it isn't possible...but like I said, I think this is more of a mentality issue. Shame the therapist discarded him after 20 minutes. I still think he is experiencing some form of a mid life crises.
