I just deleted my recent topic/thread. It made no sense whatsoever. People who are highly medicated; like myself (or intoxicated) should be ban from the internet.

Since I've been a lurker of susans.org for the past few years, I feel obligated to give everyone an insight on my top surgery, especially the newcomer.

I had my surgery on the 19th of this month at 7am. The first 6 day I was miserable. The pain was intolerable. I never believe in control substances but had no choice but to rely on C3 and Valium. During those 6 days, I rely on movies, shows, and music. But I mostly sleep thanks to meds.

On the 20th, during recheck, Dr say my tube was not ready to be remove for the fluid was still red thick and leaking. I was really upset. For every movement I make I felt the puncture inside me and it brought tears to my eye.

On the 21st, I have to come back again for another check, this time he say I was ready. Thank GOD!! PS. Before you guys go in to have your tube pull out, its best to take your meds for I didn't want to and boy did I regret it. The damn thing inside me was longer then my hand!!

I had a recheck on the 24th (exactly 7 days later) to have my stitches around my areola remove. I notice that my right side is still swollen while my left side is flat. I ask the Dr and he say give it time. He told me we'll see what happen on our next appt when he remove the lower incision. Oh, During the removal, there was no pain. Actually, I don't feel anything aside from the cold tweezer touching my skin.

If anyone ever experience the half swollen part or know anything about it, please advice me. I'm a little worried that there's still leftover fluid. The last thing I want is for Dr to shove another tube inside me to drain it out.

I honestly don't know why the picture is sideway, I apologize. As for my body type, its still a 'curvy' shape for I have never been on T.

What do you guys think? The 2 side looks a little abnormal due to liposuction. After doing research on Susans, I mention to my surgeon regarding my concern about dog ears and next thing you know he removed it without extra charge.

Congrats dude, i had my surgery one day before you. The drains really do suck. I had mine out after 6 days and immediately I was able to do so much more with my body and range of motion. It really hurt to have the right side drain come out.

Actually I feel really great, every day I recover in leaps and bounds. Today I was monkeying around in my closet, which is just a huge avalanche of bags and books and stuff, while digging around for some clothes and did not feel any pain at all. The worst thing is still when I have to reach up high, but I can even do that without incident as long as I don't have to move my arms too much.

Anyway I was writing to tell you about swelling, I had peri so it's my understanding I might be stuck with swelling longer than someone who had DI, but yeah it's absolutely normal. Unless you touch the problem area and it feels like there's fluid in there and you can push it around, there's no reason to worry. This is why you have to wear the postop binder for a few weeks, it will help. Keep in mind how crappy you felt for days after surgery, your body just went through a really huge invasive process so swelling is to be expected. It should go down in the months to come.

I thought my swelling was bad, but during my checkup I was told it was normal so I think you'd definitely know if it was something to worry about.

Hey, you finally got the drains out! I had mine in for about two days. My ex had to empty them three times and measure the fluid. He was not amused.

My swelling was a bit lopsided, actually. For one thing, I had more fluid on the right side than on the left. My surgeon told me that I could have the drains out when both sides were draining less than a certain amount. The left side was no problem, but the right was over the limit. On the third day, I was just under the limit on the right side, so he let me come in and have the drains yanked.

I didn't get to see much for a few days after that, but the right side was more swollen--partly because of more fluid, I suspect, and partly because he left a bit more tissue on that side (you can't really see it unless you're looking for it). The stitches on my right side were a bit more problematic as well.

Think of it this way: most of us are lopsided before surgery, too.

I'm glad I was able to give you a little support. Now that you're through it, you have so much to look forward to.

P.S. Looks like a good result...your nipples/areolae aren't too big, they don't look too close to the armpit, and the incisions seem to be in the right place.

Thank you. Actually my swelling have seem to flatten a little which makes me feel so much better.

Thanks to you Arch, thanks to you. With your advice, right before surgery Dr. ask me if I have any last concerns and I mention about being afraid the areola might be too close or too far and how my incision lines might be too low. After he listen to me, he show me a few pictures and assure me he has master his skills overtime.
