Hello all~

I've been searching on the Internet for a week and I still have trouble finding a doctor who deals with gender identity disorder, I really need to stand up and start HRT because I'm getting too old, just turned 23 few days ago, I live in NYC queens and I can only go with doctors that accept emblem health insurance since I don't have money T_T.

Please help me~I would give hugs and kisses to you~

Hello Jynx.  Welcome.  I think we can help get you started.

Please be sure to review

First, 23 is not too old!

I will be back in a minute with a link for you, so you can begin your search for a gender therapist.  We have several members in and around the NYC area, and I know at least one who used the same insurance plan as you, but given the time of night, it may have to wait.

Try this link:

TYTYTYTYTYTY~~

Have a question, the website you listed, those who have a green check logo next to "Transsexual issue", it means it is in their specialty category, does that mean they are more professional on this issue? And I should avoid those who don't have green check logo?

Only 1 doctor I found that allows Emblem health insurance and specialize Transsexual issue, I would like some advice here from some experienced forumers here who know this, TYTY!

Offtopic: do I need to type verification code every time I make a post?

After 15 posts, new aspects of the site will open up and you will have improved abilities, such as using personal messaging.  The stuff you are experiencing now is meant to ward off bots and spammers.

It would be a good idea to read through individual doctors resumes, as posted on the site,  Psychology Today is a reputable source.  There are others.

In my own area, there are very few therapists with specialized GID experience, so I saw a general therapist who had broader GLBTQ experience.

If I recall correctly, you will lose the verification stuff after 10 posts.
