Thanks for all the responses guys! I agree that my chest looks a bit too "well developed" compared to the relative lack of muscle in my arms and everywhere else. I've tried something else today that is perhaps an improvement (basically I used athletic tape to tape the chesticles to the sides and hopefully make it look more flat or natural or something of that sort).

Insideontheoutside, I do think you are looking male in that picture! But holy crap not washing your hair in days, that is some dedication. Perhaps you could get the same messy effect with some type of hair wax or pomade?

it's pretty close if people weren't focusing on you/ your chest I doubt they would really notice. Lookin good in that vid. insideonetheoutside  have you tried hair putty or anything I use that sometimes to get that kinda effect in the past.

heres a few pics or me these days

only seem to be passing about half the time any suggestions? I do know my hair has grown out a lot.

Insideoutside:
I agree with the others, some kind of hair product would get that effect. I say go for a gel or a simple texturizer.  A wax or pomade might be too strong. http://www.haircutsformen.org/buzz/pages/tipsproducts2.htm

Henri:
I think your chest looks flatter now for sure, but the scoop in the middle is a little awkward. My verdict is the same. For passing glances it wont matter, but up close and personal it might be more noticeable.

Traivs:
You appear to be a young man in those photos. I'm not sure how to help with how old you look. When men get older, even if they dont get really muscly, they do have an added thickness to their faces, necks, and overall build. Your clothes are masculine, there's nothing to change there imo. It's your physic that makes you look young. The only thing I can think of is to cut your hair shorter. I know that when some people cut their hair really short it brings out their face and makes it more pronounced. It might or might not help, but it's a thought.

Lemme ask you guys something. What do passing as a guy and passing for your age have to do with each other?  Just curious.  I am 33 and I can't pass for 33.  I get carded all the time.  In fact, the other day a bar tender almost didn't give my license back because she didn't believe I was my age.  I dated a guy who was finishing college and every time he introduced me to his friends, they would ask what I was majoring in.  So I guess I pass as a college student, lol!  But I think it's okay to pass as a guy younger than you are.  Trust me.  When you're my age, you will feel thankful that people still think you are young.

I don't think it would bother me so much if it wasn't pre teen- early teens age grouping that I get judged at. Since I have a kid and look 13-14 I get weird looks and comments. Plus someone said to my last girlfriend who was 3 almost 4 yrs younger than me that it was creepy she was dating someone so young. even though i am 22 and she was 19
  •

Bostoncisguy

Oh yeah I get it now.  I can understand the frustration if you are in your 20s and people treat you like you're in your early teens.
  •

Traivs

yeah and as you can see my son is a little old for a 13 14 yr old to have lol I am constantly being asked if i am his older brother.
  •

Bostoncisguy

He's precious!  Anyway, I guess that's something you're gonna have to accept cuz you do look young, but you also pass very well IMO, says the guy who didn't know he was dating a trans guy until he came out to me.  Yeah, I had to accept that whenever we hung out, people would think I was in college since he was in college.

And BTW sorry for always talking about my ex.  He and two of his friends are the only trans guys I know and that's all I have to go by as of now.

Traivs

Yeah there's nothing i can do but accept it even when i was dressing as a girl a few years back i was pegged as 16 when i was 19 so this is nothing new. I was just hoping that there was something I could do to look a bit older. Also my mom is like 48 and is being asked if she's in her early 30's most of the time so it might just be genetic. At least I am passing half the time or so.... thats a start. I am not super short though i am 5ft 9in -5ft 10in give or take.

That's an under-statement. I think 5'10 is about average height for a guy.

insideontheoutside

Thanks everyone who commented.

As for the hair thing, it's difficult to get that messy look. I can't use a lot of the products because they actually wet the hair enough to make it start curling. I have some wax that I use now and then but it also doesn't get quite the same look.

As for everyone looking younger than they are, I've been there done that myself. Obviously clothing comes into play with that. Dressing like a 30+ year old rather than a 20+ year old makes a difference (even though I don't always practice that one myself!). If you're in college and you actually are in your 20s and you're still getting clocked at 13 or something it probably is a matter of build and shaving/not shaving. If you've got the baby face, people are just going to think you're a teen boy who hasn't started shaving yet.

haha yeah but i come from a family of tall people my sister is 6ft 1in my brother is 6ft 2-3inches same with my dad. I am the shortest so i guess thats why i feel short.

Inside it may be because I have no facial hair I don't shave but even if i did we have to be clean shaven at my work. Though that is something I have thought about. Also that sucks that it starts to curl have you tried hair putty or just wax cause its a different consistency

You're lucky you're taller! That at least helps some.

The hair wax seems to work ok. Any kind of gel or mousse consistency thing doesn't.
