I can FINALLY be as bold as I want to now (at work), soooooo... hmmm.

I've been using Loreal Preference... it doesn't seem as harsh or drying as others I'd tried. I haven't tried Experte though. That Dark Blonde or Ginger Red look VERY tempting

I sooooo badly want to try a red/brown. I'm dark blonde now (my artificially created natural colour, lol), so it'd REALLY be a change! My wife will HATE me though, as she's already accused me of "stealing her life." (she has beautiful chestnut hair).

Is the Experte stuff hard to do? I love the idea of highlights, as normal colouring can look so... unnatural at first. I think it actually looks BETTER after it grows out a bit and loses some colour.

I just wish I had more hair to play with

Id love to try it.... but EVERY single time Ive tried to dye my hair it turns red... like natural readhead red... dosnt matter what color Im aiming for, be it light brown, blue black... hardcore purple or blue... it turns red....  Guess Im stuck with blond for now LoL

I do use manic panic products though... temporary dye dosnt mess with my my natural color or misdye so *shrugs*

Pretty! I like it! I keep trying to find a dark blonde that's rich, vibrant. Sometimes they can be kinda lifeless. But Butterscotch looks very rich! You're a happy camper? Would you do that colour again?

black would be more goth like than a brunette, you should have no worries.

I use a product called Natural Match.  It has no ammonia, so it isn't harsh on the scalp while dying.  I've used that the last 3 times I've dyed it.

I use Loreal Highlights.  My natural color is dark brown (well, it used to be, now I think it is pure gray  ), but I have tried basically every color out there (except blue black and platinum).  Nowadays my hair color is medium ash blonde; I tend to go lighter and lighter everytime in an effort to hide the grays.   Next color: red penny....LOL

I use Garnier Fructis Blue-Black regularly.

I'm 39 and probably 50% white in front,
70% on the sides and 30% in the back.
Had my first white hair at 17!!!! No kidding.

I do like to be a redhead though, right now, its Matrix Socolor 7RR. My highights are copper blonder, level 8.  Those a salon colors, I don't trust myself to do any coloring except darker coloring.

I'd go even redder, a intense rich shimmery rubby red, if I didn't think it impede getting my next job as a chief engineer :-). Once I'm hired though... I can't promise anything to them ;-).

I saw an incredible rich golden blond, with slightly darker golden blond lowlights (level 9 main color and level 7 lowlights) with a choppy layered cut, that I really want to try later this year, I just want to get there very slowly so I don't mess up my hair. I did a stupid thing last year, colored them off black, I'm still trying to slowly lighten them 6 months later. If your planning on going lighter, don't color your hair black of dark brown!!! (My natural color is off black).

I get my hair colored every 5-6 weeks at a great local salon for $25!! Getting the highlights put in and coloring the rest, cost $55 which is at least $70 dollars less than the big salons do it for!!!!

The first time I changed up my hair style and got highlights done, I absolutely loved the experience. It took like two hours for the whole thing, between chirping away with the stylist and having the coloring done. I felt right at home, great cut, and she got a massive tip for the experience. It was like $20 for 4 or 5 foil highlights but she threw in a couple of extra ones where she thought they'd look appropriate. Whole thing was like $65 counting tip.

The second time I had highlights added it was at a master cuts and they did 7 foil highlights for $25. Except she ignored the color i asked for and left me there to get some scalp burns while she talked about nascar with the other "stylists." Welcome back to texas. Though at least she didn't totally butcher it, it blends naturally enough that I've been told I should get highlights by people who didn't realize I already had them. And as its grown out it's really come together well.

After that experience I'm willing to go ahead and pay salon prices. But god it's addicting once you start messing with your hair. I wish I'd done the whole "every color of the rainbow" thing in my teens. I'm starting to really dislike my natural hair color (dark brown) because it's just boring. The tigerseye effect I get from highlighting is awesome, but I want to do something wilder like go black and toss in highlights. That's starting to get pretty far away from what people accept on a guy though
